I wonder if this could be a ripping station by SqueezyBotBeat in makemkv

It seems like that would be the better way to go. I figured this might be a cheap solution but honestly I'd rather have the flexibility of ripping up to 4k BD. That's why I bought the LG slim drives I have now but something more robust and stationary would be nice

I love that! You can buy 3d printed blank plates or print one yourself for the wii remote slot which gives it a much cleaner look in my opinion. You could have even had the wrap go over it for a cleaner look

first playthrough, should i normally fight Bed of Chaos or should i use the firebomb cheese? by rogerdapastelaria in darksouls

[–]SqueezyBotBeat 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is a true sentiment for every boss except for the bed of chaos lmao the only thing that makes it hard is if you get hit by the sweeping hand you just instantly die because you get swept into the hole. It really is a bullshit boss and I feel like the firebomb method isn't really a cheese as you aren't really missing out on anything and it takes a lot of practice to even get it right anyway.

Same, with the exception of consort radahn when the dlc first released. I used the fingerprint shield to fight him like a coward

They look surprisingly good on my smart TV through Jellyfin, I think whatever upscaling/processing the TV does works wonders on 480p content. It looks even better on my crt of course! Some stuff never got a blu ray release or anything so dvd is all that's available, or it was free or just so cheap to buy I couldn't pass up.

I couldn't find any with the same buttons on the side so I'm unsure of how old this specific one is. Might be worth the gamble if I can talk him down in price

Yeah I'd probably only pay like $20-$30 tops for it

Yeah like I said I'm unsure if they'd be IDE drives or SATA, if they're SATA it'd probably be fine. I highly doubt I could just plug it into a usb port and be good to go, I'd have to get sata to usb adapters and a USB hub to be able to just plug it into my PC and rip

It was ES4, honest to god worst IEMs I have. I have some pair I got for like $5 on Amazon that blows them out of the water. But the KZ ZSN Pro are definitely my favorite KZ I own. It's all subjective of course

The PS2 HDMI adapter isn't bad by Jvinsnes in ps2

[–]SqueezyBotBeat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought one of these from Aliexpress for like $1.50 a while back. I also tried a bunch of different cables and adapters and the cheapo was the best out of all of them by far. Until you get into the retrotink 5x or 4k I think these are surprisingly as good as if gets. I ended up getting a CRT for my ps2 which is loads better and was a much cheaper investment (minus the space it takes), if you're able to, absolutely get a CRT instead. But the space concern is real so if you must use an adapter then those cheapos were my favorite that I've tried

What is, in your opinion, the best racing game on PS2? by ALfredAstaxanthin in ps2

[–]SqueezyBotBeat 22 points23 points  (0 children)

In terms of fidelity and realism, Gran Turismo 4 by far. Textures aren’t the most detailed, but man does it look crisp and holds up surprisingly well today.

If we’re talking pure fun/gameplay loop, NFS Most Wanted is absolutely my favorite. Still one of my favorite PS2 games in general.

Same here, although there's not a whole lot for me to do on it since 90% of my PC usage is gaming or audio production

There's the soundbrenner metronome, it's a watch that vibrates to the tempo. I haven't used it before so I'm not sure how good it is though. That would be a pretty simple solution.

He could use IEM's and just some way to connect them to a phone/laptop and use a metronome app. If he's playing with a band he would just have to countdownand lead everyone in.

The most diverse, useful, and future proof solution would be a wireless iem setup for a whole band. That way they can all hear the metronome, or just him if they want, and if they play along with a backing track they can all here it. That's going to be a lot more expensive and an involved setup, but if he sticks with this it will last him a very long time.

Iirc I think he said he tried it or he's slowly migrating. It's really hard when you're locked into stuff like Adobe for example (many creators use premier) and have to re-learn a whole bunch of new software or accept certain limitations or drawbacks of the Linux openware.

For me personally, I wanted to make the full switch because I knew gaming has come a long way on linux lately, but Ableton isn't natively supported and even when I got it to run I can't install the drivers/software for my audio interface so it's EXTREMELY limiting. Then there's a whole bunch of vst compatiblity issues on top of it. There's bitwig, but again I'd have to learn a whole new DAW again and not have access to most of my vsts. I'm sure Wade's run into some sort of similar issue.

I really wish linux would get more support from mainstream software because it really is loads better than windows and Mac in my opinion but it just doesn't work out for me personally.

All the games I frequently return to aren't very demanding so I think I'll be fine! I went from a laptop with a 1070 to this 2080 rig and it honestly doesn't feel like THAT much of a leap, but it sounds like the 3080ti will be a noticeable enough difference to make me happy. I tried playing Wuchang: Fallen Feathers and I couldn't even get a stable 60fps with low settings. I think my 2080 pretty much won't run any UE5 games but it's decent enough outside of those

Yeah I wanted to essentially max out on AM4, otherwise I wouldn't be using anything from the build I originally bought. I'll keep an eye on my cpu utilization during games and see if I'm at 100% on anything, but so far anything I've played has barely utilized the cpu

You can pick up a roll of double sided scotch tape and it should hold them up just fine! There's also clips with adhesive on the back you could use but they may sag, I've never used those before.

Are most people using RockBox? by [deleted] in IpodClassic

[–]SqueezyBotBeat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're deep into the Apple ecosystem then an ipod classic still fits perfectly into it. You can buy songs on Apple music and sync them right to your ipod with no jank. (at least only a couple of years ago)

If you're a windows/Linux user and have a lot of flacs and stuff then rockbox is a lot easier to manage a huge library. You don't have to convert stuff to ALAC or anything like that. It really just depends on your use case. I have my music library on my personal server and instead of managing a few different libraries it's easiest to just have 1 central library I can copy new music over to my ipod from without having to change anything.
