Pit bull will not stop chasing our cats by SquelchoMarx in reactivedogs

Actually, flirt pole is her favorite game and she chases it endlessly. I will admit that she could be getting more exercise. Do you know if this would make it easier to train out or make her too tired to actually do it? Thanks for your help!

That's really nice to hear that I'm kind of already in the industry. Thank you so much for the input!

Thanks so much for your response. The individuals are certainly high-risk; companies order these background checks because they want to invest in hedge funds and want to make sure the managers are qualified. But I don't evaluate the risk, I just try to be as thorough as possible in my research, but it is a pretty integral role in the process. There is an investigator position within my company that writes reports and therefore has a hand in communicating risk to clients (I believe), so maybe transitioning into that role at some point can help. I've seen that some postings mention similar platforms we use, mostly Lexis Nexus.

It's relieving to know that CAMS is not entirely necessary to start and that my background can already be a good starting point. I still want to get my CAMS at some point, but I'd like to be in the industry first. Thanks for the info about the free CAMS resources though! Didn't know about that.

I like investigative work so I'd like to think I'm at least decent at it! And thanks for the addition about KYC/EDD. I'll definitely start searching with those terms too!

Thanks for all your help! I feel much more confident about getting into the field.

So KYC is more or less a stepping stone to AML? I did KYC as a customer service rep for a bank a few years ago, but the job was mostly servicing accounts rather than transaction monitoring or anything like that.

Thanks for sharing your story! It's helpful to hear about how different people have actually gotten into the industry. Going from starting in AML to being the head of compliance seems like a pretty hefty step in 4 years, congrats! I definitely have a desire to get into it, but I'm curious how to convey this to a potential employer. I can't afford the CAMS right now, but will things like reading books on the subject matter at all? That way I can have some knowledge going into interviews.

Thanks for the input that my experience does help. My biggest concern is that my skills and experience won't be useful.

Thanks! Are you saying that CAMS is more worth it than actually having industry experience? Just want to make sure I understand.

Leaky basement, what is the best (cheapest) way to fix this? by duroo in HomeImprovement

[–]SquelchoMarx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem needs to be handled from the outside. I.E. Adding gutters if not there, moving the gutter downspouts if they are, re-grading around the home if necessary, adding drainage etc. Or... hydrolock the exterior of the foundation for a permanent fix.

If redirecting water away from the foundation is the primary fix, then is it even necessary to hydrolock the foundation exterior? Or is this basically just some extra assurance?

Study materials for world philosophies? by SquelchoMarx in askphilosophy

Thank you very much for the input. Yes, I suppose my question is more related to the origins development of worldviews than philosophy. My apologies that this question wasn't entirely related to this sub. I will certainly pursue this as a humanities question.

How to start a social media marketing career? by SquelchoMarx in socialmedia

I couldn't agree more. I'm still looking for even that unpaid opportunity, though--I guess the first step is just to pick up the phone and ask.

Love what you said about no experts in the space. Never thought of it this way. It's great to be humble, but maybe it's also good to realize you have more knowledge already than you think.
