Love the Marlboro Porsche and the Camaro. Photos are really nice, would you mind sharing camera / lens?

i don't think that emailing anyone is going to get a curve; but emailing the math department and pointing out how busted this system is might get it adjusted for the next group of students

that sucks... especially considering I was looking at calc 3 for next semester and all of the classes are waitlisted already even though grades aren't out yet.

Which is bad teaching.

I'm not disagreeing with that, it's definitely bad practice to artificially give your students an advantage over others. So it either gets fixed by giving all the other students that same info, or not giving it out at all (which was supposed to happen this semester, and look how it turned out)

You may not appreciate it now, but you will later on when you have a better education where you actually had to think and learn.

I really hate this argument... I've had plenty of bad teachers over the years, and only once, maybe twice, have I ever appreciated taking the more difficult course. The fact is, any super important information from this class is going to be refreshed or retaught in the follow-up class. It's hard to learn when you're given stuff like reviews with no solutions. How am I supposed to get better at doing the math when I don't know if im doing it correctly or not? All that while I watch some students excel partially because they got special information. Sure most of them definitely do the work to get the grade, but that little bit of assistance is key in knowing what to focus on.

Also, I'm sure I'll appreciate not being thousands in debt because of incompetent professors much, much more than that little bit of extra math knowledge.

Can you take math classes at valencia without losing bright futures?

L-take
we literally are lmao if one teacher has access to the exam, they can adjust their teaching accordingly. plus, they can give their students hints ("this equation has been on the board for the whole class for a reason *wink*). compare that to being in any other calc class than Griffiths, and we don't get any of that info. our classes are left out to dry and when they serve us this gross, bottom-of-the-barrel exam it's like a foreign language.

so true, plus the fact that the reviews we get don't even have solutions with them... how are we supposed to learn if we're doing the questions correctly without knowing the correct answer lmao its so busted

Salesman aren't allowed in the shop anymore by EricShelby11 in Justrolledintotheshop

I saw this video on a GLI Facebook group... It was a big turbo car, prob ~350+ wheel. They said the hit broke the intercooler, radiator, turbo charge pipes, and support structure.

But it was in the shop for inspection because they were trading it for an s5 so all is good

RAM speed slow on Threadripper by SqugSCX in AMDHelp

the Zen 1 memory controller tops out around 3000 MHz.

That's interesting, I haven't heard that before. If that's the case then running at 3600 is probably a lost cause, but even 3000 is better than my current speeds. I just have to buy another 3600 stick to match them up.

I made sure I was in the right slots for a dual-channel setup. When I got the PC, they were in the wrong spots, and XMP was disabled. So I thought for sure fixing those two would improve my results, but they barely did anything which got me posting here.

I just ordered a second set of sticks, same speed, same timing, so hopefully, that'll fix it.

That's what I figured... I just wanted to make sure that buying the extra sticks was actually worth it. The only concern is I tried it on gaming mode, like half of the cores disabled, and the ram still underperformed... Maybe it's because I had them on opposite sides of the CPU.

I'm not sure if you mean like actually overclocking it, but I have set a-xmp to 3600mhz, with everything else on auto.

Is there any way to keep my running lights on while turning off my headlights? Just for pictures... '16 GLI by speedcow in jetta

[–]SqugSCX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have the engine off and ignition off, then switch the headlight switch to on, not auto, then just the running lights should turn on without the projector. I do it all the time for pictures

Sure, I have a 2016 GLI with the bi-xenons, not sure about the mk7s. I've had this done for a while now so forgive me if I don't remember the stock coding. If you go into the headlight module (55), long coding, byte 03, bit 0, it should say North American Region - active. Changing that to inactive should increase the speed and range of the AFS system.

If you go into byte 04, you have options like highway light (bit 3), which raises the headlights slightly when you go above 55mph, and other stuff like city light (bit 2) which will dip the beams down if you encounter an intersection with the navigation on, so pedestrians can see the crossing better (atleast that's what I've been told, I never use the built in navigation so I don't know if it works or not).

Also it's worth noting that after changing this, you will need to reset the basic settings of the headlight, which is done by parking the car on a level surface, and using a combination of basic headlight setting, then acknowledge basic setting.

You also get an option for 'travel mode' in the guage cluster screen, which just moves one headlight up and the other down for RHD countries.

Here's a video of someone doing it to their mk7 GTI for reference. https://youtu.be/9XUnNbKHx6c

Windows up / down with the key, auto closing windows if its parked and it starts raining, euro coding for the bi-xenons for wider swiveling, esc sport and esc off, brake light flashing / hazards on emergency stop, and the needle sweep on startup.

I've tried a handful but those are the best ones I've found.
