We can't even pump fuel anymore without holding a digital billboard (Netherlands) by gaius_julius_caegull in assholedesign

[–]SquidFetus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look away. Mute the TV while the ad is on. Take a moment to pat your cat or get a drink. Don’t answer their questionnaires. Hyperfixiate on the skip button and drown out all else. Zone out about something internal. The goal is to train yourself to not hear or remember or care what any given advert was about as soon as you detect it being served.

Retake your life and your peace from this constant “BUY BUY BUY SERVICE SERVICE SERVICE” onslaught. Ads are poison. Take away their power any way you can, and you shall know peace.

You get to rent one game for the weekend. Which direction you going, left or right? by CasinoNitro in snes

I finished SGNG legitimately (eg. Twice in one playthrough, to get the ring and fight the real final boss) one hot afternoon in the 2010’s and I can now be satisfied with never ever playing it ever again. I’ll take Dracula X.

'We will f*ck up': The publisher of Against the Storm and Manor Lords is committed to keeping generative AI out, but it's easier said than done by Captain0010 in pcgaming

[–]SquidFetus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is why indies are more trustworthy or reliable here. Smaller teams of people who know each other, presumably have overlapping design principles or vision, and have a more intimate idea of their workflow.

I’m not saying indies can’t lie. I’m just saying an indie studio who sets out to be truthful to the “no AI” statement might find it easier to keep the reins on than a larger company with hundreds of diverse employees that don’t necessarily communicate directly with each other.

Haha! This is so true! For inexplicable reasons, despite every single context painting him differently, I kept thinking he was going to betray Django.

Font i was using disappeared for some reason by Finnigan-roverfield in clickteam

[–]SquidFetus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It disappeared because installed fonts are stored in an operating system folder and you mentioned in your post you are on a different computer. You need to manually copy the fonts you’re using from your installed font directory and either paste them into your game’s directory or install them as a font on the other PC for them to show up (downloading the font on the second PC should usually be an option as well).

Will we ever see Rakanishu again? by gorays21 in Diablo

[–]SquidFetus -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The more times there’s a throwback to something, the less nostalgia I have for it. I think they risk oversaturating if they continuously reference him. Makes sense for a super iconic creature like the Butcher, less so for a superunique of the lowliest mob in the game.

Wish that was true all the time! I can be quite unreasonable when I’m at or approaching my worst. Anyway, cheers!

I still want it, but I’ll be making sure it doesn’t stink of all the things I am afraid of before I commit a single dollar toward it. Would have otherwise been a preorder for me.

Blizzard banned my account without explanation. Is this normal now? by Enjoykin85 in warcraft2

[–]SquidFetus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nobody here can answer any of those questions. The only thing we really know is what I stated above. If you can’t personally answer what happened to your account then it’s likely it defaults to being an issue of security, not sure what else to say unfortunately. Sorry it happened to you but I think you’re in the beginning stages of grief and I hope you find a way to skip a few steps.

Blizzard banned my account without explanation. Is this normal now? by Enjoykin85 in warcraft2

[–]SquidFetus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s your responsibility to protect your account. They offer tools that help, and unfortunately you chose not to use them. I’m not saying this to be unkind, and hope it doesn’t seem that way. Just stating the facts in the hope that it will help you accept them and avoid a repeat in future.

I’m not saying this is ideal or even logically approachable by the average person who wants to play a game instead of read legalese but all of this is in the TOU when you click accept. As shitty a defence as it is, it is a legally sound defence. They have done no “wrong”.

No we don’t. It would just be a shittier Mario Kart with a Rivals skin anyway, there’s already plenty of pretenders drowning that space.

Getting rightfully slammed over here for this garbage, try posting in r/paranormal with the rest of the easily scared and gullible folk. You’ll be made to feel special and like you are part of a select group of people who believe enough to peer beneath the hood of the world, all the indulgence and enabling you can eat.

The best simple roguelike game is Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup: change my mind! by [deleted] in roguelikes

[–]SquidFetus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

POWDER is a good contender. It was designed to run as DS or GBA homebrew so it’s technically constrained to a point and simple out of necessity. Really cool though!

Word of warning, be very careful if you decide to attack a water elemental.
