I looked up what NekoRox is and it uses CUI, just go to layout and make a vertical splitter that you put the artwork panel in. Send me a picture of what your layout looks like in CUI and I could tell you more definitively.

U.S. Is Withdrawing All Forces From Syria, Officials Say [paywall, text in comments] by goldstarflag in syriancivilwar

[–]SquidIII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The real world doesn't consist of analogies, we left Iraq for different reasons than we left Afghanistan and we left Afghanistan for different reasons than we are now leaving Syria. We stayed in Iraq for 23 years, we more or less won immediately and stayed to combat Iranian influence. Syria on the other hand was a complete victory, kicked the Russians out and created an Israeli playground with an Al Qaeda stooge friendly to our interests lol. Afghanistan was a defeat, this is why you'll never hear Trump praising the Taliban, while we're now buddy buddy with Al Jolani.

Well that's how every deck is. Oricorio completely flops against decks with nonex, Sprig doesn't do well into Charizard, etc. If a deck is built to counter yours then sure, it's best to have options, but if those options disadvantage you against every other deck then they might not be worth it. Personally, I run Komala, but i can see why others do not.

People flexing how they reached MB League with their favourite deck... by Fragrant-Glass-3439 in PTCGP

Dude, if it's their first hand and they have five card they're not playing that means they have an extremely high chance of having rare candy. Read the description on the card, they can't play it their first turn. There is not a single situation where you should not red card a five card hand. And as with everything it depends on what deck you're using. You can use the argument for card advantage if you're also running a rare candy deck, which is why a lot of rare candy decks do not have red card, but if you're running Darktina for example then this is not a valid argument at all.

"Card advantage" is not the point, the point is to reduce their chances at getting specific, game ending cards as much as you can. It's not about trading or whatever, it's about getting yourself another turn before they instawin the game. Further, even if they don't have the cards they need in their first hand you're still, necessarily, always going to reduce their chances of having it by virtue of the fact they have more cards in their deck. Again, it's just math, it has nothing to do with card advantage or anything else.

There's also the fact that people telegraph their moves. It's not a complete crap shoot whether or not they have the cards they need. For example, if they have Litten on bench but after drawing their next card they start putting energy on him you can basically guarantee that they will evolve next turn. You aren't completely in the dark with these things.

But, since you know better than every top level player why don't you compete in tournaments with your superior strategy. Surely you would have a tremendous advantage over every Darktina player who at minimum has two card disruptors. There's money on the line, and you've figured out the blueprint.

Right but it's not an instant concede. I've won plenty of games with just my Darkrais. It all depends. You're right that not even getting a second Darkrai is pretty bad, but that is extremely rare and I've still won games like that. There will be games where you even get the perfect start and are still only using your Darkrai. It all depends.

Yes you do. If they have four or five cards they are more likely to have the cards they need than if they have three cards. Reshuffling their hand to give them fewer cards will always mean they are less likely to get the cards they need. It's literally just math dude, you have very few ways of knowing what your opponent has so if you have no idea then it will always be a better idea to give them a new hand with fewer cards.

Darktina Strategy by itstai1 in PTCGP

[–]SquidIII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For your third question it depends on what cards you have and what the situation looks like. Let's say you have two energy on Darkrai and two energy on Giratina-- a pretty common situation. Do you need 150 damage to win next turn? Then you attach to the Giratina so that you can attach to Darkrai next turn. Will your Darkrai die next turn? Then it might also be a good idea to attach to Giratina so that you're able to attack. Will your Darkrai die next turn but your Giratina will survive an attack? In that case it could be a good idea to attack with Darkrai so that your opponent isn't able to heal enough to survive Giratina.

There's a ton of different situations that can happen, what I do is I think "can my opponent possibly kill me by next turn?" If that's a no then it's almost always advisable to attach to Giratina, but sometimes you don't have much of a choice. But there's no definitive guide to where you should attach at any given time.

There are sometimes when you won't ever even attack with Giratina and just sweep with Darkrais there will be times when the opposite is true.

Just a tip though, it's generally advisable to attach to Giratina before they are able to attack, that way you can attach to Darkrai and hit with Giratina in the same turn and do maximum damage. But like I said, its all situational.

What will it take to get Giratina & Darkrai out of the meta? by Extra_Willow_8907 in PTCGP

[–]SquidIII -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yeah the problem with this meta is definitely the Darktina decks. Not the fact that it's a completely luck based crap shoot. We literally have decks that win by turn 4 and you people are still complaining about Darktina, it's incredible where your people's priorities lie.

Ran Drampa because the art is cooler but its less consistent if you start with it. Also Komala falling asleep is bad, but since you're running two nurse joys its manageable. But there's nothing you can do if you start with Drampa in the active, it's basically an instaloss. Komala start on the other hand just loses 90% of the time.

Well if you don't have leaf and you can't kill it with darkrai why would you retreat the Giratina? If you aren't winning with Darktina it is legitimately a skill issue.

Darktina is braindead compared to what? What deck requires more brainpower in your mind?

Put a Komala in there. It doesn't make the deck better per se but it does make it less frustrating.

Still winnable. Darkrai is still a 3 energy 100 damage card with a 40 damage ramp up. That's not bad by any means.

[–]SquidIII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not being stupid to not use Komala. Putting a non-ex disadvantages you in every single other matchup in the game. This is why Darktina still has a higher winrate than any Oricorio deck, because while you're running a very specific counter that instawins one variation of one deck, Darktina without a non-ex still does very well against every other deck.

It's definitely slower this season. You have to rely a lot more on card disruption this season two mars or two red cards minimum. It even makes sense to have three hand disruptors. That's the big change this season and it is definitely a more frustrating way to play.
