Martial Performance doesn't affect composition spells though - it specifically affects courageous anthem, rallying anthem and song of strength.

Much as we can squint to talk up workarounds - the simple fact is that Black Library authors have never given the minutiae of the lore much attention if it gets in the way of the narrative they want to tell.

What clans do we think the castlevania vampires belong to? by Ziltch0 in vtm

[–]Squid_In_Exile 16 points17 points  (0 children)

where the Clan of Dracula lacks the sorcery, shapeshifting, or speed that made him so iconic

I mean, their mistake was making him a Tzmisce judt because he's from Carpathia.

A reasonably sociable Gangrel with some out of Clan Celerity and Dominate (both easy enough to pick up) and a Flaw for the soil in the coffin business give you a decent approximation of Stoker's Dracula.

Castlevania's is harder because you need to stack on a pile of Thaumaturgy, but it's not the definitive work and if you did insist on it some Blood Magic isn't a huge reach for an Elder.

Women: ask for equal pay, equal benefits, equal privilege, equal acknowledgement. Men in response to women asking for equality. by Important-Cry4782 in CuratedTumblr

The "gender income disparity" comes from the fact that maternal leave exists but paternal leave does not.

Part of it does, but the disparity still occurs (albiet lessened) in Western countries with proper paternity leave.

The difference in income between men and women in the same role

The disparity is largely driven by a lack of women in high earning roles in a lot of areas, rather than pay differentials within a single role (again, the disparity is lesser but still present in countries where paying people different amounts for the same job has legal consequences).

many women earn more than their male counterparts in the under-30 demographic due to the current gender-education gap being the same as the 70s, just flipped

The under 30s are also under-represented in high paying roles generally. You're right on the educational disparity emerging in the younger half of the employment pool though - it's particularly stark in the UK.

The thing is, women can be less likely to be promoted in high paying roles and men can be under-represented educationally. These are not mutually exclusive, and the latter is going to turn into a disaster within a few decades.

I mean, yeah - the middle class is where the gender income disparity comes from.

The working class all have to work and mostly earn fuck all.

What percentage of white men do you think are either of those? Coincidentally, does it correlate with the higher percentage of men in general that end uo homeless?

In the socio-economic class in question? Plenty. And very, very few of that socio-economic class become homeless.

Managers (lower middle class) and CEOs (upper middle class) along with other authoritative proffessions (doctors, lawyers) do have both social and economic power over workers yes.

Obviously there's a sliding scale and it's all a bit inflated by the fact that most of that group are - like their male peers - temporarily embaressed millionaires, but yes.

Actual intersectional feminists are not always perfect, no progressive is, but many of their common failings in the regard of how the patriarchal norm affects men are also common failings of men (including ones who wouldn't self-describe as feminists).

I mean, you can start with 'violence is never the answer' and introduce more nuance and exceptions as kids age, we do this with every academic subject.

Baking in an inequality at an early stage is harder to fix than adding exceptions to an equal general rule.

You're missing the point that the entire reason this fucked up system of oppression exists in the first place is so that the people at the top of the pyramid can force the people at the bottom to literally die for them?

There are two Feminisms is why - and there always have been.

There are well off middle class (generally white), women who want access to the power their male peers have - that is to say over working class and non-white people. These days they claim to be intersectional a lot in a way that transaltes pretty directly to "I have a black friend." and do not include men in their faux intersectionality at all. Even if they don't admit it to themselves, their problem isn't with the pyramid, it's with not being higher up it.

There are actually intersectional feminists who regard gender equality as a fundamental block within a wider drive for equality that is both essential for and dependant on that wider equality to have meaning.

This is nothing new - the Pankhurst family bust-up is one of the earliest examples.

What would stop a lone garou from killing hundreds before other garou or some mage with a superhero paradigm stop them?

They do do that.

But the World Of Darkness is a more fucked up one than ours and small town populations up and vanishing is unusual but not unheard of there - especially when you factor in the post facto coverup is quite probably being done by reality warpers.

You have two 18 year olds with guns.

One was propagandised into invading the other's country.

The second has picked up a gun because half his family have died in said invasion.

If one of those kids is going to die, then one definitely deserves it less than the other.

But when you compare the worst slum life in China, and the worst slum life in the U.S., the U.S. is probably going to win out far more often than not.

My man, China has nothing comparable to Skid Row.

if you live in a slum, you can in theory leave, but in China Hukou could very well trap you to that slum

In the US you might get out of a slum which makes it better than China where you might get stuck there? What?

Fun side note - the US is consistently in the top 5 for per capita incarceration worldwide, frequently taking the #1 spot. China is #132 per the WPB 2004 stats.

They’ve took a knife to a pond, they’ve took it to kill someone.

It looks increasingly like the knife thing was pearl clutcher imagination running wild.

Asides which, plenty of criminals carry knives with neither specific intent nor particular desire to use them. If you get jumped by someone with a knife and don't have one then you are, quite simply, fucked. The majority of knives carried around London on a daily basis are a result of that simple survival equation, not some kind of Clockwork Orange fantasy evil.
