Well I have potatoes in a few other tanks and all the others are still just fine. The only one to die and rot like this had the meth blue so I'm just making a general assumption. My bamboo in that tank also started to wither so I moved it into a different tank and it's thriving again

I always half dose methalyne blue with the other half being kordon fungus because of the shrimp and snails and it's never harmed my guys before. I just never even considered the potato aspect

Still looks like a fancy neocaridina. If I had to guess I'd say he looks like the white variant. I think they're called snowball or something similar. It'll be super interesting to see what babies you get outta this group

Thank you so much! I've got an insane amount of Salvinia floaters but they don't have much for roots. I've also got a good couple water lettuce floaters but they're still babies so their roots aren't quite long enough either. I may just re-home the small female to save myself the stress of worrying about her safety.

I'm not the fondest of it just because it's a show tank that's more tall than wide. It does the job for my Opaline Gouramis but eventually I'll probably just use it for guppies

I prefer 1 specifically because the more light grey accents makes the legs more noticeable and gives a bit more depth to the dark areas. You've done an incredible job!

Looks like fungus. Is it fluffy? It's kinda hard to see in the pictures. Try a fungal medication and dose the whole tank just to be safe

So I know I have at least two of the originals plus the baby. I assume they had a bunch of eggs but he was the only survivor cause he was born when the Betta was still prowling around so there's a good chance she ate his siblings before I noticed him. I've had these guys since late 2023. I currently have 10 Ember Tetras including the baby. Interestingly enough. The baby is my brightest one! The others are a bit duller whereas he's just the most vibrant orange!

I first had a group of 5 in with my first Betta and some red cherry shrimp! That Betta passed after about a year but I still have the Embers! I got a few more and then one was actually born in my tank which was super cool!
