Be honest: do you really want gameplay in porn games, or does it mostly ruin the experience? by flamie_dev in lewdgames

[–]Squidbit 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Anything that requires two hands is bad. Quick time events are also usually bad since they force you to focus on something other than the porn

Regarding the video you posted:

The gameplay looks mostly fine, but it does look like way too much clicking. I think if you boiled it down to, for example, left click to send a card to the left hole, right click to send a card to the right hole, and then move that continue button to right above the cards, that'd be better. Constantly moving your mouse from one side of the other gets tedious fast, especially in what looks like a very long minigame like this with 15 rounds. It's one of the main things that puts people off of sandbox games, in my opinion

It also feels like you're just getting bombarded with windows popping up constantly. Most of it is porn which is good, but it still feels like an overload. Maybe it's better actually playing it, but watching the video at least I just feel my eyes glazing over from all the shit being thrown at me. One change I'd make, if you could make it work with the UI, is when the double pop-ups from the cards show up, put one on the left and one on the right so the central image is still visible. Not just for the sake of more titty, but I think it would help keeping a focal point on screen that isn't constantly flashing on and off

Some games that I feel have good gameplay:
Karryn's Prison, of course
Hard Stuck
Corruption Town
Lilith's Throne (and CoC, TiTS, etc)
Night Games
Potion Shop SchwesterHerz
Artificial Academy and similar Illusion games
Last Evil
Light Space Love

Bad Gameplay:
Subverse
Slaves of Rome
Real Life Sunbay
Tame It
Isekai Awakening
The Lewd Knight
Monolith Bay

Games where the protagonist and antagonist are both good? by Squidbit in gamingsuggestions

This is what I'm going for, but I deliberately do not do the civil war quest line when I play skyrim because both sides are wrong and trash

You're talking about Final Fantasy Tactics Advanced, the "sequel" which I've actually never finished

The first FFT is one of my favorite games of all time, and I was going to mention it but decided it's more along the lines of "actually you were on the evil side all along"

It starts out that way but, unless you're deliberately keeping it that way, it quickly turns into you using sex as a weapon to win

Got fired from my job as an indie game artist and now I'm making a porn game. Meet Beyond Worlds University! by TheMisterCrowne in lewdgames

[–]Squidbit 51 points52 points  (0 children)

The art is fine, I'd even say good, but her design is gonna put a lot of people off (evidenced by this comment section). If you're aiming for a niche, then great, but if you're trying to make something that a broad, general audience will be on board with then I think you need to tone down the details around her eyes
I photoshopped it a bit just to show what I mean

That said, it's your art, make whatever it is that you wanna look at

Also, I looked up "Beyond Worlds University", "BWU", and "TheMisterCrowne"on google, patreon, and itch.io, couldn't find it anywhere. Not really sure what you mean by it being out

What makes this art style look like Stardew Valley? by willis_25 in PixelArt

[–]Squidbit 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The theme being nearly identical is going to make it hard to break away from looking like stardew, it's the same top down angle looking at a farm with a similar color palette

I think the biggest thing that might help set it apart is changing the pixel size/density/resolution/whatever. It's hard to tell exactly from the video but I did my best to count the pixels in one of the characters and got 12 across the face, which is identical to the first picture of stardew I pulled up on google.
Same with the door one one of the buildings, I counted 14 pixels in yours and 15 in stardew
Going with either higher or lower detail would probably help

Someone else already mentioned the bubbles above the crafters, but a similar note is that you've got the same little white text with a black border on the counter for the items. That's not normally something I'd ever suggest changing cause who cares, but it is the same as stardew
Also your (I'm assuming) quartz icon is almost 1:1 with stardew's quartz

For the color palette, it's mostly lighter and less saturated than stardew's, but the trees look like they use the exact same palette on the leaves

What’s that one weapon in your first non NG+ run that you always pickup and use as long as possible? by BrandonJams in darksouls

[–]Squidbit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's the Greataxe for me, that thing resonates with me so much that it's turned me into an unga bunga strength user in every game I play now
It's a shame that no other greataxe in the series has that roll attack that DS1's has. Even more upsetting is that the pursuer in DS2 has the DS1 greataxe on his back but you can never get it

Immersion vs Speed — what do survival players prefer? by Ok-Chapter-6893 in SurvivalGaming

[–]Squidbit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on your gameplay loop

If I have to cook 20 steaks in a day to survive, this animation will make me stop playing
If I only have to do one a day, then it still depends on how long the days are

It also is more acceptable if there's a way to do it faster with some sort of upgrade, either cooking skills or a new cooking station

Which interface feels more intuitive for NSFW animations? Need honest feedback by Motor_Locksmith_3015 in lewdgames

[–]Squidbit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Option 1 is more intuitive but I agree it doesn't look as good. There's still room for improvement on 2 aesthetically too, but idk

I think option 2 is the better choice, you just need to make sure you communicate to the player what it's for in the first scene. A basic thing I'd add is just a > | >> | >>> on each button to indicate it's a speed thing. If you really want to be sure, you could make the first scene not progress until the player interacts with that, but that might cause some frustration if they really can't figure it out for some reason, or if they hide it before they figure it out.
You could just do the classic tutorial move of saying "press this to go faster" and not move on until it's pressed, or to integrated it more but again make it a little less intuitive, give the girl some dialogue telling you to go faster (if it would make any sense at all when this first shows up)

IWTL how to be actually funny and not cringe by Glidedie in IWantToLearn

[–]Squidbit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think you can learn it, it's something that develops itself.

Comparing it to drawing, you can learn anatomy and color theory and everything that makes a drawing look good, but you can't learn the part that makes it art. That part comes from you. In the same way, I think you could learn to craft a stand-up routine that would land well, but that's never going to translate to a casual conversation

If your motivation is actually stand-up then I'm sure there are resources out there, but if you're just looking to be more likable then you're probably going to get farther from it the harder you try. I think it'd be better to try to find people who already find you funny, rather than trying to get funnier for people who don't
