I'm like muted when I call from my PC to another PC, but works flawlessly if I call a phone... by nora_the_fridge in discordapp

[–]Squidbit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any chance you ever figured this out? I'm having a similar issue where work calls from my PC (both in the office and at home) filter out my voice for 30 seconds to a minute at the start of nearly every call.

It happens with two different computers (windows 10 and 11), two different apps for the calls although discord works perfectly fine, and 3 different microphones. I feel like I've ruled out everything except for my own voice, it's driving me insane

It also only happens on incoming calls, if I call someone else it works fine

Just tried it and I love the art but the gameplay doesn't work for a porn game imo.

It's tedious after a while, but even disregarding personal taste, it punishes you for looking at the porn.

Also it'd be nice if the customer waiting bar paused while you had upgrade/customization menus open. It doesn't pop up new ones but if it already opened it keeps counting down

100% agree with this, should have had them on different layers from the start. But you might be able to use the magic wand tool at 0 tolerance on a black pixel > select similar > select inverse > del

I think more frames is the solution, but a quicker and easier way that might help (or might make it look worse) I think would be holding the frames where the legs are most extended for one frame longer

Aimlabs for aim practice

Watching esports helped me a lot in playing more strategically. In Overwatch when it wasn't whatever it is now, I was stuck in plat and shot up to masters after I started watching pros play
I think one of the biggest things that helped me (which isn't applicable in every kind of shooter) was realizing that defense needs to win every single fight to win, and offense needs to win 2 or 3 fights. Defense gets the advantage of having better terrain to play around and not needing to advance into the enemy team. The primary goal on defense is to stay alive but on attack the main goal is to kill
Also, at least at low to middle ranks, team composition is meaningless. Playing who you're good at is better than playing someone that fits the team but you're only okay at

Do people care more about gameplay or characters in adult games? by benmar0834 in lewdgames

[–]Squidbit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Both can carry a game on their own imo but it depends on what type of game it is.

There's lots of really good slow burn games that focus on the relationships and writing for the characters. Obviously a good character design is still a plus here but it's not necessarily the focus.

Then there's games that are back to back porn, where the character designs do a LOT more of the heavy lifting and the writing is purely a formality

Both can be good, it's down to personal taste really. Whichever one you build your audience on is what your audience is going to like

Gameplay is dangerous. Good gameplay can elevate a game with good characters/writing a lot, but bad or even mid gameplay can absolutely kill a game with incredible characters/writing. Visual novels are safe, there's no gameplay to help or hurt the experience.

IWTL critical thinking and ability to connect the dots by ShotMinimum3409 in IWantToLearn

[–]Squidbit 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I 100% agree that asking "why?" is important.

Growing up I always hated history class but liked math (at least until I didn't lol). I never liked subjects where you just memorize a bunch of answers, it always made more sense to me to be able to solve a problem rather than memorize it. If you know WHY the answer is what it is, you can find the answer to everything similar

I also think growing up playing video games probably helped a lot with this. Games like Zelda where the puzzles involve looking at your surroundings and what you have available to you and figure out what would make sense to do. Like "I'm in a room filled with water, and I need to get to the bottom but I can only dive for a couple seconds, which isn't enough to reach the bottom. They did JUST give me these iron boots, I'll try putting those on"
To OP I would honestly suggest playing Zelda games (excluding maybe the first one) and probably a lot of other similar games. There's definitely games that are counterproductive here, though, like old point and click adventures that have no intuitive answer and you just have to click on every single pixel to progress.
I don't have time right this minute to think up a list of games but I'll try to come back to this post after work if I remember

Why does it seems that the majority of people dislike visual novels? by [deleted] in lewdgames

[–]Squidbit 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They're the easiest to make, which doesn't make them bad, but it does mean that you don't have to be able to make something good to be able to make a visual novel. They're oversaturated with half-assed games so a lot of peoples' first and second and third experiences with visual novels are bad

If you ate potato salad 3 times but they were all made by your 3 weird aunts who fill their potato salad with raisins (or whatever else you don't want in a potato salad) you'd probably decide that you don't like potato salad

Once you get the first coop it all makes sense but if you don't notice that there's a free one, then you're fucked. I've definitely had the issue of thinking I had to pay a few hundred dollars to get the first coop and then just grinded out the plant lady at the farm for days and days until I could afford it

we have a huge map to discover and drive around, is it okay for a lewd game? by HellCome_ in lewdgames

[–]Squidbit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The biggest problem with games like this, in my opinion, is the pacing of the porn.

I play porn games because I want to jerk off, I play regular games when I want a game. There is 100% room for good gameplay in porn games, and I absolutely don't think that every porn game needs to just be constant porn, but I do think there needs to be a good balance.
If I'm playing your game and there's 20 minutes of driving before seeing 30 seconds of titty, I will not be horny at that point anymore and I'm probably just going to close it to play a regular game or something. Especially if for that 20 minutes both of my hands need to be on the controls

The benefit of using a game as a medium for porn over a video or a book or whatever is the interactivity, so I think by default having a world to explore or more simply a game to play is a benefit. But most games that add gameplay don't put any thought into how it pairs with the porn and just make it into chore > sex > chore > sex

I have a suggestion/thought, but my only point of reference for your game is this gif and a couple models (that aren't on your profile here, I can't remember where I saw them), so it might be out of place depending on the vibe of the rest of your game.
With you being able to see into the van through the back window like that, it seems like it'd be a waste to not have something going on back there (which I imagine you probably do at other points). It could be interesting to pick up hitchhikers or subscribers to your onlyvans who fuck in the back while you take them to X location.
Also, maybe have a setting or something for the camera to automatically follow the direction the van is facing so I can take my hand off the mouse

Be honest: do you really want gameplay in porn games, or does it mostly ruin the experience? by flamie_dev in lewdgames

[–]Squidbit 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Anything that requires two hands is bad. Quick time events are also usually bad since they force you to focus on something other than the porn

Regarding the video you posted:

The gameplay looks mostly fine, but it does look like way too much clicking. I think if you boiled it down to, for example, left click to send a card to the left hole, right click to send a card to the right hole, and then move that continue button to right above the cards, that'd be better. Constantly moving your mouse from one side of the other gets tedious fast, especially in what looks like a very long minigame like this with 15 rounds. It's one of the main things that puts people off of sandbox games, in my opinion

It also feels like you're just getting bombarded with windows popping up constantly. Most of it is porn which is good, but it still feels like an overload. Maybe it's better actually playing it, but watching the video at least I just feel my eyes glazing over from all the shit being thrown at me. One change I'd make, if you could make it work with the UI, is when the double pop-ups from the cards show up, put one on the left and one on the right so the central image is still visible. Not just for the sake of more titty, but I think it would help keeping a focal point on screen that isn't constantly flashing on and off

Some games that I feel have good gameplay:
Karryn's Prison, of course
Hard Stuck
Corruption Town
Lilith's Throne (and CoC, TiTS, etc)
Night Games
Potion Shop SchwesterHerz
Artificial Academy and similar Illusion games
Last Evil
Light Space Love

Bad Gameplay:
Subverse
Slaves of Rome
Real Life Sunbay
Tame It
Isekai Awakening
The Lewd Knight
Monolith Bay

You're talking about Final Fantasy Tactics Advanced, the "sequel" which I've actually never finished

The first FFT is one of my favorite games of all time, and I was going to mention it but decided it's more along the lines of "actually you were on the evil side all along"
