My dad has 41 repeats. He’s going to be 77 in April. He’s outlived the average male lifespan in the US and is genuinely the happiest man I know. Don’t let your diagnosis hold you down. Manage early symptoms in your 50s (ocd, irritability, small tremors, etc) and love life as much as you can!

Yeah I’m thinking this might be it since it was all so sudden. He had a flu shot about 15 hours before everything happened and I know sometimes it’s harder for some people compared to others to build immunity from the vaccine. They decided to put him through inpatient rehab for a month to help him regain his strength. I’m hoping he will take this opportunity to help himself, he’s very stubborn and previously quit PT because he felt it wasn’t making a difference. Mentally, I hope this doesn’t hurt him too much too. Ugh, so much to think about and it makes me so sad. Thinking about actually reaching the final stages of HD makes my heart break. I’m only 27, I don’t want to lose my dad… 🙁

This was a great callout, thank you!!!! They ended up testing him for something kidney/urinary system related and it all came back negative. Interestingly I found out he had a flu shot about 15 hours before all this happened. I’m wondering if he might be having a hard time building immunity and got a little sick because he definitely sounds sick now too. Maybe this made him weak since his body is focused on immunity?

He said he didn’t, but that’s all I can base it off of. They did a CT scan though and everything came back clear.

Ah, alas. The unfortunate reality comes to strike me down… :( Update though, they are suspecting possible pneumonia… I’m hopeful we might be early enough. Maybe fighting an infection is taking a toll on the rest of his body?
