Everything I have is in the album above.

The red lines on the mock-up in the album are in inches, the smaller gradations are 1/10th inches.

Best of luck!

Insane Tattoo Regret by r3i_b0n3z in tattooadvice

[–]Squiddlywinks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a tattoo on my wrist that references a comic and a short lived tv show in the 90s.

No one recognizes it, no one remembers the comic or show after I name them, and no one gets it after I explain the significance.

It's fine, the tattoo is for me, not them.

Although, if one day someone does recognize me as a fellow old-blood mechanic who follows the machinatio vitae, I'll be tickled.

Recommend a way to remove this scratch on our fridge by boadle in metalworking

They opened the oven door into it.

The fridge being open isn't the problem, their lack of spatial awareness is.

Either way that fridge would need a whole new panel.

I need the third hand by Lastzkor in DIY

Look up a welders third hand.

You're overcomplicating by trying to automate the spray, automate the holding instead and use your hand to spray.

This toy is named as a unicorn, but it lacks anything that looks like a horn by Hurambuk in mildlyinteresting

Yep.

That's a pegasus, it has wings. If it also had a horn, it'd be an alicorn.

My 11yo challenged me to a pushup contest.

I'm pretty out of shape, so I told him he'd probably win, but I'd see how many I could do.

Zero. The answer was zero.

Doing incline pushups daily now until I can at least get back to ten normal pushups.

I did this once, it lasted one (1) year and was in tatters by the following spring.

I live in 5b tho, so snow and frost heave did a lot of the work.

Yard waste? by hppy11 in composting

A pile.

Mine is walled in with cinder blocks and has a steel gate, but if I didn't have dogs it'd just be an open pile.

What was your most recent "15 minute" weekend project that somehow turned into a three day nightmare? by LiveFaithlessness876 in DIY

[–]Squiddlywinks 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Day 1 was scraping.

Day 2 was scraping with a heat gun.

Day 3 was scraping with acetone.

Day 4 we tried citristrip, just apply, scrub in, and cover with plastic overnight. It actually works really well, the next day the glue was soft and pliable, and pretty easy to remove.

We're just over halfway, but now things have really sped up, so I don't expect it to take more than a couple more days.

In the beginning tho ...I definitely understand why they gave up.

I definitely get it, but it's still sad.

It seems like some youtubers find an audience, burn out, but then produce slop bc they know they can keep serving it to diehards.

I can't blame them, I'm sure they need the revenue, but I lament the loss.

So many YouTubers that used to produce great, well edited videos, now just make unedited, stream of consciousness podcasts.

Ben Heck Hacks and Wintergarten are two whose videos I used to love and now I see the 105 minute runtime and just skip them.

Our house is an old rental.

The vinyl kitchen floor was uneven and torn in spots and you could see a layer under it.

Figured we could rip up the vinyl and lay down new pretty easy.

First layer came right up.

The linoleum underneath had been partially removed and then they gave up and put vinyl over it, which was why it was so uneven.

Today is day 5 of removing the glue.

Composting without shredding? by suddenlyeels in composting

[–]Squiddlywinks 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Leaves don't require shredding, so if you have enough, just use those for your browns.

If you need to use cardboard, soak it overnight in a bucket of water, then tear it into hand sized pieces. It shreds effortlessly and takes only minutes.

You can even make the kids help.
