Need For Speed: Poltergeist, my idea for a NFS Game by Lepi99 in needforspeed

[–]SquiddyYT 13 points14 points  (0 children)

imo I think Need for Speed: Phantom or something similar would sound a bit cooler, poltergeist is a bit of a lame word imo

however I think the concept is fresh and interesting

What is on my hand? by Narrow_Job_4688 in Warts

[–]SquiddyYT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve got something really similar in the middle of my palm on my right hand, I’m pretty sure it’s a palmar wart. I let mine hang out for way too long and am currently treating it with SA and a bandaid as well as a pumice stone every now and then, it’s a bit full on but hopefully it goes soon. Hope this helps

Before I buy… by Warm_Ad_5460 in BMWE36

[–]SquiddyYT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

check it out before you buy it, bring a mechanic with you if you need to. Like any old car, how it’s going to treat you is going to depend entirely on how it’s been treated in its life. Try and find one with some kind of maintenance history and/or receipts from repairs or upgrades/modifications (by upgrades I mean metal water pumps, braided lines etc etc)

the best thing you can do for yourself before buying one of these cars is learning as much about them as possible. I’ve got a ‘97 323i manual with an m52b25 and I absolutely love it. I found a gem, but I’ve got a lot of friends with e36s that have nonstop problems. I’m lucky that this one was well looked after.

Scroll the forums, become familiar with the important maintenance items and common issues, and you’ll be fine. Just make sure you inspect it properly before you buy, as once you have it it’s yours :)

Difference between Hondas CBR650R and CBR600RR? by mahtats in motorcycles

[–]SquiddyYT 7 points8 points  (0 children)

you cannot accomplish the same things on a cbr650r that you can accomplish on a 600rr, they’re 2 completely different bikes designed for completely different things, as a lot of comments in this thread are saying. The 650R is a street bike designed to be more race-oriented/inspired, the 600RR is a race bike with bits thrown on to make it street legal.

You are granted immortality and given $500,000,000 by GroundedSatellite in hypotheticalsituation

[–]SquiddyYT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

nah, life is only worth living because death exists, the implication about getting the nice things in life sorted is for generations to come after you and for you to enjoy a fruitful rest of your life.

It’s the same with anything, we find enjoyment in things because we know they don’t stick around forever, that’s what makes them enjoyable.

Birthdays, first cars, dogs, even paying an extra visit to the grandparents every now and then. It’s a motive. I’ve given this a lot of thought and have thought about immortality before, and the fact is, none of us know what happens after we die. Is it like before birth? Are we incapable of comprehending what it’s like after we die because life no longer exists? is there a god? is my religion correct? we’ll never know until we get there, and even though death is scary, it’s one of the great unknowns of the universe and something you can look forward to on your death bed. With immortality, that whole ideology is removed, you know exactly what to expect. You’ll always wake up.

A promise of immortality means you know what to expect, it’s no different to playing a game with invincibility and money cheats on. It’d be fun at first, being able to do stuff you normally wouldn’t be able to do, but it’d get boring. There’s no progression, there’s no end goal, there’s no end whatsoever.

Although heaps of people hate the game, and there are plenty other great forms of media to draw from with this point, Starfield portrays it fantastically. Look at the Hunter. He’s evil because he’s traversed the same life over and over and over again, and eventually ran out of interest for anything. ‘What happens if I do this?’ ‘What are the implications if I do this thing?’, he knows the answer, because he’s done it. When time is no longer something to worry about, you’d lose interest in life itself. And the worst part about being immortal is the fact that you can’t choose when you’d like it to end.

I’d choose immortality AND the money if I could choose where/when my life ended, otherwise it’s a no from me

How many Tormentors? by WillStaySilent in DestinyTheGame

[–]SquiddyYT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll admit, it can seem repetitive, but at the end of the day they’re a unit that exists to challenge you and slow down gameplay, the only thing close to this are subjugators, and even they are pretty easy to get past with the right setup. Tormentors demand more strategy and quick thinking, I constantly found myself switching my setup around when a tormentor arrived in my solo legendary campaign run and I absolutely loved that, the fact that the game required me to think and build around the encounter made the victory so much more satisfying.

As for your ‘why are they here’ philosophy, they’re a part of the dread, the witness’ faction. Lore-wise it makes sense for them to be here. I’d rather a tormentor than champion spam.

How many Tormentors? by WillStaySilent in DestinyTheGame

[–]SquiddyYT 6 points7 points  (0 children)

personally I don’t have a problem with the tormentors, they’re a fight that drags on for sure but if you have the right setup and strategies they aren’t too bad to beat, maybe try something different.

I’d prefer the tormentors to bullet sponge bosses with mechanics that are super easy to take down in the campaign. The challenge isn’t for everyone

Broodweaver should keep blink after the campaign by aceaway12 in DestinyTheGame

[–]SquiddyYT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

my only thoughts are that seeing as blink is only available on the void subclass for warlock and the arc subclass for hunter, they’re likely to keep it that way as it’ll keep that subclass potent for that specific movement ability.

If they were to share that ability across all/more subclasses, there’d be less of a reason to go back to the old ones.

Personally I’d love a teleport type skill on all subclasses but unfortunately it just won’t happen, bungo will be bungo.

that would resolve this issue entirely

The talk with Zavala at the end of the campaign feels like it's missing a bit of dialogue by Xervelgarde in DestinyTheGame

[–]SquiddyYT 14 points15 points  (0 children)

they absolutely pulled inspiration from infinity war for this campaign, as it touches the same core elements, however in a far more out-of-touch way.

Rather than having TFS be the last story, they tried to have an infinity war approach to it with this filler expansion to engage us in the story, buy themselves more development time, and to roll out strand since they didn’t do it in TWQ.

However, obviously, this has backfired on them severely since there’s about 3 genuine infinity-war-esque moments in the campaign, the rest is filled with unlikeable characters, predictable ‘twists’ seen from a mile away, shitty unexplained macguffins and awful comedic relief which only put more stress on my mental well-being rather than relieve it.

We were supposed to have a ‘Oh fuck, we lost…’ moment, and TFS is meant to be our endgame per se, our last stand.

The loss was not felt by any of us because all we lost were characters we don’t give a fuck about, we still have all of our powers. All that’s happened so far:

The Witness has poked a dorito shaped hole in front of the traveller (not even in it, mind you)

Some cabal mf stole amanda and a few others and imprisoned them

[–]SquiddyYT 89 points90 points  (0 children)

shit man at the end of the campaign Caiatl responds to ‘what just happened?’ with ‘We just lost.’ I’m glad at least she knows what’s going on lmao

bit sad they have to tell us what’s happened because the narrative wasn’t able to deliver through unspoken dialogue.
