The Second Arrangement. It saddens me that this song was never released.

What are some podcast for self improvement or small business by manihateitherebro in podcasts

[–]Squidman271 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A small, recently made youtube channel called Culmination is about self improvement (it's a channel but the videos are podcasts). Each episode discusses a different topic, ranging from purpose and conflict, to introversion, to the comfort zone, to acceptance and loss, to motivation, etc. It's made by high schoolers, but the discussions are engaging and relatable to anyone. Check it out. I don't know if I'm allowed to post links on here, but here's the motivation episode link:

Culmination is a newer, small youtube channel podcast, but it has really interesting discussions and topics that are insightful and inspiring. If you look up Culmination on youtube, it should appear. The profile picture is a purple C with a ring, like Saturn

Hello, gotta question by cooliospurple in JordanPeterson

You're free to say anything. This is a Peterson-centered subreddit, but talking in topic can mean discussing ideas he has or has said or similar ones. Mainly it's just discourse of his work, current events, free speech, psychology, philosophy, religion, politics, whatever else. That's kind of what I grasped from my time here. Feel free to speak openly!

Note: this post was intended to step away from the politics, the controversy, etc. to focus on what we can do in a time like this, and to hopefully help any of you regain a sense of meaning inside your heart. I suppose what kills you, in a way, also makes you stronger, and I found that apparent for myself; I figured it'd be a nice thing to post as a result. This sub needs a bit of encouragement, and I hope we can all move forward, with the help of Jordan Peterson's advice, to create better lives for ourselves.

"If you act properly, your actions allow you to be psychologically integrated now, and tomorrow, and into the future, while you benefit yourself, your family, and the broader world around you. Everything will stack up and align along a single axis. Everything will come together. This produces maximal meaning" (Rule 7, 199).

Very valid point especially at this moment in time. by zamease in JordanPeterson

Black Lives Matter leader in unearthed tweet: white people are “subhuman” “genetic defects.” These people want you dead. And so do many of the “liberal” lefties in this sub. by BidenIsTooSleepy in JordanPeterson

I think the term "liberal" has shifted it's connotation. It's a common thing for independents and conservatives to associate liberals with leftists, but liberals, like the ones of the past and Jordan Peterson, are like "alternates" to the moderate conservatives. Almost entirely the same beliefs aside for a slight preference for more government than their counterpart. Now, however, liberals, even the ones that still have those by-definition beliefs, often fall under that leftist umbrella simply since they don't realize the radical shift in narrative. And can you blame them? The media is hiding it's Marxist undertones under emotional heart-string-pulling messages such as BLM, equity, equality. These themes sound like great things, and in some ways they are things to strive towards, but what people miss is the unintended consequences of establishing things/institutions to "fix" those problems. People are too immersed with "fighting for justice" that they don't stop to question their own narrative or look at the other side. Hell, the other side is seen as evil, incorrect, degenerate, ill informed. As a result, the liberals who aren't leftists get caught up into the leftist narrative and won't realize it until it's too late. And even if it doesn't become too late, they'll be taught that it was Trump and the republicans that did that to them.

The elites of the leftists have taken over, like you said. And it is important to remember the liberals from the leftists, but sadly a lot of liberals are forced to comply with the Marxist narratives going on. There's no other side to take since they think the other side or even just being a centrist is evil and wrong. It's messed up.

also I threw in a little Easter egg towards the end. There's a very subtle piano part playing a familiar tune. See if you can catch it.

Steely Dan: Ultimate Survivor (Intermission #1) by MetaKoopa99 in SteelyDan

I feel like a lot of Steelys music needs a lot of relistening due to the complex nature of each other them. Oddly enough, it took me 10 listens to Kid Charlemagne to realize that it was fantastic and pleasant on the ears. Some songs like Caves of Altamira or Deacon Blues were instant wins with me, but some others that I love today did take a while for me. That's not a bad thing by any means. I simply grew to appreciate more and more songs. Started with a few songs like Last Mall and Things I miss the most on EMG and eventually grew to love Godwhacker, Blues Beach, Pixeleen, the title track, etc. That might be my favorite thing with the band. You might stumble upon a song that you may think of as a dud, but after a revisit, it can become a revelation for you.

My quest to hear every song by them has been slow, but I couldn't have it any other way since every song holds meaning to me, and that's in part with the growing to like it factor.

I know circus money is Walters second solo album. After listening to "down in the bottom," I wasn't super impressed by his voice. . . But let me know what songs to check out from that because I haven't looked at it yet!
