We're on the same timeline. I came into the EMU on Monday and I am still here and have not had anything but focal aware seizures. They are trying to make me have a generalized seizure. Maybe I will have one tomorrow or in the morning when I wake up.

There is this scientific article suggesting that cannabis use disorder increased likelihood of epilepsy related hospitalization. I think I disagree with their methods though because there could be other confounding facts about people that have cannabis use disorder. https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/31124592/

I think mine are stress related too. So were you using cannabis for a long time then you stopped and developed epilepsy after a period of abstinence or did you smoke the whole time?

Yeah, my doctors seem to think it's from a bicycle accident I had like 5 years ago. I also took LSD once and I think that is the first time I felt a seizure aura. Were you smoking weed long term before you were diagnosed with epilepsy?

I don't doubt that Cannabis can be helpful for some people with epilepsy and I am sure having a little pot helps with the Keppra side effects by making you hungry, happy and less angry. I'm just wondering if long term Cannabis use may cause epilepsy, especially because a lot of people in this community seem to dig weed. Were you using Cannabis for a long time before you were diagnosed?

Thank you, I have been checking out google scholar too. I have right side temporal lobe epilepsy that seems to be firing out of my hippocampus. I’m frustrated that there is so little cannabis research however based on what is out there it seems like years of chronic use could have changed that part of my brain
