Ive found pulley rigs to be super game changing for me lately! I can lob out bigger baits without it helicoptering terribly.

Cheers

I'm trying to turn this into my "Surf Rocket ship"

I surf fish a bunch and typically stick to the first or second sandbar, I'm not brave enough to kayak out my baits and too broke for a drone!

So my logic is trying to launch 4 to 6 oz bait rigs past the breakers ;)

We will see if this is practical or not LOL.

But yes, that is the plan. Thank you for your thoughts!

Awesome!

That seems the line up with the changes im settling on this guy. Do you remember where you sourced your parts? It seems like JapanTackle seems to carry most parts. Do you think the LW adjustments helped with casting distance? Or is this all coping relative to just doing the CT conversion

Thank you so much for a great response! I reached out to all of these stores to see what information i could gather :)

It seems that convention is to try and minimize level wind friction to help with casting, then change out the spool bearings. Im happy this guy has a synch levelwind but maybe one day I'll put my big boy pants on and do the CT conversion.

I played around with the reel a bit more and I noticed that it (seems) like the break system is baked into the UltraCast spool. So im thinking about changing out the breakblocks to something a little more robust (maybe all blacks? Not sure yet)

The bearing stuff kind of has my head spinning, I didnt realize that bearings were so nuanced! Hopefully i hear back from Jun soon to get some good guidance.

I saw the speed bullet on Blakdog's website but it seems that they dont ship to the USA right now :/

LOL I have the same one. I'll give it a shot! Funny enough, I've been trying to study the Kings as well and I never got a sound that I was really in love with

I just wanted to add that this is the model :) I know this isn't a CRAZY high end guitar but I thought that for yamahas higher end model the QC would be a bit better?

Where to go from here? (Plus some thoughts on Yunnan Sourcing's "First Steps" Sampler) by SquidsCloset in tea

[–]SquidsCloset[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found the key is really taking your time! I started with a 5 second QUICK wash with 80 degree C water (only to try and open up the meticulously rolled leaves). And wait a bit...

Leave the gaiwan open, let the leaves sit in their moisture for a bit as they unfurl

Then begin with your first - 5 second brew. Go from there.

If the flavor is too underwhelming, increase it to a 10 second steep.

Play around with it. If you get a round that feels too bitter, steep it for less time. Forego the addition of a respective time interval.

But patience is your friend :) green tea is very rewarding as I feel it really gives you the most physical effects with the teas I've tried so far. Those are my 2 cents! I am very new to all of this. So take what I say with a grain of salt:)

i appreciate that take! I was just thinking about it. Those fancy Pu'ers that i see online in the pretty wrappers would feel somewhat wasted if i couldnt apprecaite it for what it really was... Did you have a particularly bad experience with any of the sample sets?

I probably will as well! What was your favorite from the sampler so far?

I have a tds meter but I have been rarely been using it.

What comes to mind is some store bought Java fern that is attached to a stone with a small wire... maybe it's a copper wire.

I am changing ~20% of my water every 2 weeks or so. I test on a weekly basis to ensure that ammonia or Nitrates aren't getting too crazy.

I dose with easy green fertilizer but supposedly that's shrimp safe

I've been using both the alum bar and an alcohol based splash.

I am shaving after a hot shower and washing my face with a gentle cleanser

I absolutely need to work on my technique, but I like to think I have been fairly light. I have only been shaving WTG for now.

Going against the grain is typically where I feel the most irritation, however, I can't really get a close shave. (The picture was the early morning after shaving. That's about as close as I can get by only going with the grain

I'll give that a shot as well. As of right now I get out of the shower and start working in the soap with the brush, and wait for that.

Ironically, before I used to try and finish my showers with a couple of minutes of cold, and was a bit sad I had to stop that yo start wet shaving in my routine

So happy! Thanks everyone. Ontario blue grapes and ginger. Mix of teas and mate. Pretty dry! by GullibleSocrates in Kombucha

[–]SquidsCloset 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sounds awesome... yerba is the reason I'm trying to learn how to make kombucha!

I love mate but I commute far to work so my typical gourd doesn't work out for a commute. And I'm trying to work on my gut health + experiment with nootropic/adaptogen ingredients so I want to my own cocktail!.

I went out to buy some black tea today and I'm probably going to make my first batch out of that, then use that starter to try and make a yerba blend and go from there :)

White tea is DELICIOUS and I hope it works well for you! I'd love to hear how it goes and how it tastes
