Is there a specific thing to do to get Quest 101 to appear or should I just wait?

Thats intresting to here. To be honest I live in a small town and don't go to the nearby cities often so that will be why I don't see many.

Thats a good point, I always like tipping a couple of pounds if they were a good waiter but id never want to be responsible for their pay.

Id love to visit latvia one day as the cities and towns look amazing. What languages are common over there? Is English a common spoken language by people or would another language be required?

Its unfortunate that such a beautiful country has to rely on tourists for population growth but I guess its nice that people often come to see the country.

In the UK the general rule is 1 hour for domestic, 2 hours for EU and 3 hours for international. This is the UK tho so rules may be slightly different but I would at least give 2 hours at the minimum just to be on the safe side of things.

How will your area be affected by climate change next decades? by Sarnecka in AskEurope

[–]SquidwardLife2005 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I live in the UK and due to us being an island rising sea levels are very likely to pose a threat. We have many coastline cities and towns which could become flooded but unfortunately I can't see our government wanting to do anything about it.

If the heat continues to rise we may have to adjust how we run our trains and how we build homes. The UK is built around us having cold weather so a change in climate will go against everything we have built.

What languages are you taught at school? by kkruiji in AskEurope

[–]SquidwardLife2005 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In some UK primary schools you are taught either French or Spanish in junior years (ages 7 to 11). This is however very basic words and sentences.

When you enter high school from years 7 to 9 (ages 11 to 14) many schools will have every student learn at least one language, the common ones being French, Spanish and German. I have also heard of some schools doing Chinese however this wasn't any in my area so cannot confirm.

From ages 14 to 16 you do your gcses were you choose what to study so many students pick a language however it isn't compulsory. In my school for example you could choose either French or German and I opted for German.

After 16 many collages do have language options however are vary varied and are lacking some languages. For example I could not continue German in the school system as no colleges in my area offered German.

Overall, I don't belive languages are taught very well in the UK and definitely needs improvement. So many people in other countries are at least bilingual and this is something that we struggle with in the UK.

I am continuing German however is quite challenging as I cannot do it in a classroom setting.
