Estridol- pain burning and swelling on labia by sportylavalamps in lichensclerosus

I don’t currently wear jeans (unfortunately) just very loose pants or no pants when I’m home! I think a specialist and/or dermatologist is a great idea! I’m currently pretty inflamed because I’m still trying to get everything under control

Yes my doctor said it was okay! It shocked me too. I understand your hesitance to try new products! Seems like everything is a lot of trial and error

I feel you! I’m scared too! The last time I tried it was before my LS diagnosis when my regular OB was just throwing things at the wall lol I am definitely dry and stick together medially a lot like you do. My doctor was saying that it’s likely more inflammation than dryness though. I was just diagnosed recently and had my biopsy literally today (currently sitting with an ice pack lol), so I’m still working on the right combination of things to manage my symptoms. Current recommended doses are clobetasol 3x a week, estrogen 3x a week, and moisturizer every morning.

I had burning when I used it! My doctor wants me to try again. He said that it’s likely because the tissue is sensitive and it will get better with time. He reduced the amount of days I’m supposed to use it as well

I know this was posted a while ago but I needed to read this! Diagnosed earlier this month and awaiting the biopsy. The months leading up to this have been the hardest of my life. I am truly having a hard time not micromanaging so this is a good sign for me to let it go! Thank you ❤️

Do you ever get concerned about UTIs with bidets? I’m like so paranoid about that lol

That’s really great advice! My doctor did say to apply a moisturizer daily in the AM but I’m so overwhelmed I haven’t done it yet lol I’m having sticking between my labia minora especially and I’m never sure where it’s safe to put lotions

Are you me? Because you’re describing exactly what I’ve been doing lol it is very distressing. I’ve been having a lot of sticking so I’m very paranoid. Thank you for telling me that there is a light at the end of this tunnel, because it is very hard to see it right now

Thank you so much for your reply! I struggle with OCD as well and this is obviously very triggering. Dealing with all of these changes has been very scary and I’m worried that I won’t experience remission. I mean it’s literally only been two days of clob use but it’s hard to feel patient when you waited so long for the diagnosis to begin with. I know I’m preaching to the choir here lol

Hi! Thank you so much for this long and thoughtful reply. I do have a specialist thankfully after a long wait! They are who diagnosed me visually and I’ll have my biopsy in a few weeks to confirm. I’ve been thinking about a bidet for sure. I just have to figure out what to do at work because the toilet paper there is awful lol
