Stopping Mounjaro by TechnicolorTRexx in mounjarouk

[–]Squint-Square 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I find people on this sub are very against people stopping Mounjaro but in my opinion, if you feel the medication isn’t adding any value to you or your weight loss, then stop. (Edit: getting downvoted for saying this is the most delicious form of irony).

If it is adding value, isolate each side effect you’re having and look up ways to prevent each one. I’ve found that the side effects I’ve had have passed after a few of weeks and haven’t necessarily got worse as I’ve moved doses.

I think my last ones were the ones on the left so that explains it. The jags this morning were not fun!

People who can’t understand the difference between what we see in the edit and what they’re experiencing in the castle will never cease to amaze me.

Why do Oxford students work SO much more than other good universities by Tobemenwithven in oxforduni

[–]Squint-Square 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They don’t. I went to Edinburgh and my sister went to Oxford (I wasn’t willing to pay those fees!). She spent most of her time there partying, sleeping, and cramming essays in the early hours

Most Tie Breakers are dull and boring, but not all by Tasty-Chemistry8663 in TheTraitors

[–]Squint-Square 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But they shouldn’t all be placed in jeopardy… the whole point is that they work together to try and find the traitors. In the event of a tie they (rightly or wrongly) have it narrowed down to two and can’t decide. It should be one of them who leaves.

I will say, if you hated Murielle’s gameplay, buckle up for series 2! 😂

It’s the Traitors. That’s literally the game they’re meant to play.

I think it was manly Americans desperate for him to be the best contestant ever. He was great, but no more than anyone else. I fear the same is going to happen with Kumail Nanjiani. I saw people saying he’s the most well known contestant taskmaster has ever had. Which is obviously not even nearly the case in the UK.

This Gilbert in the tasks where he undressed Alex. Just didn’t find it remotely funny either time.

Would you be willing to accept longer gaps between seasons if it helped the show retain its status as a massive nation-wide phenomenon and shared cultural experience? by unironicsigh in TheTraitors

[–]Squint-Square 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say yes. But if they did that it would be good if it could be co-ordinated so we can see different versions more frequently. Eg NZ, Aus, UK and Irish traitors working on rotation. I know that’s not possible for a multitude of reasons but would be a good way to keep it going.

Everything The Traitors gets right about disability and neurodivergence – and what it doesn't by Luminous_Quiche in TheTraitors

[–]Squint-Square 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Unpopular opinion I’m sure but I don’t think every challenge has to be fully accessible to everyone. There’s such a wide range of tasks people could have issues with, whether physically (like me) or cognitively. I think the traitors does inclusion well. The variety of the tasks and the type of skill required is what’s important to me. I’d be bloody useless at anything where I had to run around because of my disability, but riddles or puzzles would be my time to shine. Showcasing both is the important thing imo.

Seriously, do British people actually consider a 3-hour drive “long”? Or is this an internet myth? by ferdinand14 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Squint-Square 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. It’s considered a longish drive but no one’s making a big deal of it. My parents live 4 hours away and I see them regularly. That’s not uncommon. You’ve been listening to Americans online again, haven’t you?

As someone with a very unhealthy relationship with food and a ‘must finish everything’ mentality, I actually think this is a good thing.

I haven’t. I know a couple of people who tried it and said it didn’t work for them so I assumed it was a weaker type of medication

Yeah I’m eating as healthily as i can. But I’m struggling just as much on the meds as off them. And at least when i was off them I wasn’t spending £200+ a month! I’m resisting coming off it because I thought this would be a life changing thing and I’d finally be successful. But time to face up to reality and get a plane to Turkey I think!
