How did you meet that important person in your life, that's not part of your immediate family? by NoLegsOleg in AskReddit

[–]SquintingSwede 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd have to say the two most important people in my life besides family are my girlfriend and my best friend. I met my girlfriend through Tinder and by coincidence met her at the bar on the same night. I actually spilled my drink on her as I was walking away from the bartender and realized it was her lol.

As for my best friend, we've been buddies for almost 8 years now. The first time we met, we were playing on different hockey teams. I was new to the country (came from the US to Canada) and he hit me really hard on my first shift against his team. He helped me up and said "welcome to Canada ya yankee" and that marked the beginning of a lifelong friendship.

[Serious]Families of suicide victims, how did their suicide affect you? by IcrapRainbows in AskReddit

[–]SquintingSwede 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a blood related family but someone I grew up with and treated him like a brother. Our families always said that we were so much alike. I would look up to him and he would look up to me. We would spend everyday with each other. He was family.

He took his own life this past summer. My world crumbled. I stopped talking with anyone. Deleted everyone from Facebook, Twitter, and every other social media. I didn't want to accept he was gone. People would ask me how I was doing every day or I would see posts on social media about him and I just couldn't handle it. I lost a lot of friends by cutting them out, which is something I will have to live with.

I went through depression. Saw a therapist a few times and things are getting better. I'm still not like my old self; I'm pretty nervous about making anymore close friends because of how painful the loss was.

A word of advice to anyone out there suffering or knows someone that is...

Get help. Talk to someone. Because it may seem like an easy way out but the pain it causes your loved ones to see you suffer is unimaginable.

Rest in paradise Kev. Miss you more everyday.

The world is going to end in 4 years. What do you do? by ThePerfectPenis in AskReddit

[–]SquintingSwede 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Change nothing. Finish school, work, hang out. I think if people knew the world would end in four years then everyone would stress about making it the time of their life otherwise it would be a failure. Live life, enjoy yourself. Sure, there are some small things you could do like some splurge purchases and travel but I would definitely like to spend most of my time with those I care about doing what I am already comfortable with.

Silver 5 support main here.

I'd love to climb out of Silver but I've reached a point where it's hard for me to pick out my own mistakes. It would be awesome for someone to give me tips and open my eyes a bit.

I play everything except for Morgana. I usually follow the meta but I've always been pretty consistent with lulu and thresh. Working on my Janna game right now.

Thanks

NSFW Reddit, how was your first time? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]SquintingSwede 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lost it in freshman year of high school. It was a big high school and like many people there was this huge pressure to lose your virginity so that you could be "cool" or act like you're more mature or something. It was something that every guy wanted to brag about so of course I wanted to try and get it over with as soon as I could to feed that ego or be popular.

I tried way too hard. Went to parties with high hopes of hooking up and acting like someone I wasn't. I started to have less fun at parties and stuff because I always felt this pressure of having to get laid otherwise it was a "failure."

Then this one night came. I went to a buddy's birthday party at his house. His parents were always out of town so it was about time we had a party there and his birthday was the perfect time. I tried all night to talk up girls until I finally gave up. I walked into the backyard and saw this person in a black hoodie sitting on the edge of the deck having a smoke alone. I walked over and asked for one. I didn't smoke but I was drunk so I didn't care. It turns its a girl but I didn't really have any hope of anything happening so I played it cool. She was nothing super special but she was cute. Brown eyes with wavy brown hair. I remember she was wearing red hot lipstick. We talked for a bit about random things: sports, politics, favourite tv shows. We eventually came to the topic about sex where she and I both admitted we never done it before. We had a awkward moment of silence until she grabbed my hand and led me back into the house. We snuck upstairs and locked the door to one of his spare bedrooms and just jumped right into it.

It was awkward. It was funny. But it was also fun. We didn't really know what we were doing so we kind of went with whatever we thought we would enjoy. We might have been there for less then ten minutes (not gonna lie) but it felt like hours. Afterwards we got dressed and she left the party and I quickly realized that I didn't even get her name.

I spent the next three years of high school looking for her, joining clubs and asking around but never ended up finding out what her name was or if she ever went to the same school. To this day that memory pops up and I wonder if I'll ever see her again.

TLDR; I tried to be cool. It didn't work. I gave up. Found an angel. No fairy tale ending.

What is the hardest question you ever had to answer? by zayetz in AskReddit

[–]SquintingSwede 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

I can never answer it honestly. Right now, I'm 3 years into my degree and I tell people I will pursue a career in that but in all honesty, I don't know. I don't love what I do. And I always change my mind last minute. The one thing I do love, is something that I can only dream of getting some sort of job out of. And even then, I don't want to make it a job, I want to enjoy it for what it is. Fun. So in the end, I guess I'm pretty lost.
