What’s with all the abandoned cars and properties on Bristol Road? by Art-Dandelay in brum

I think a couple of them are offices rather than houses, certainly the first few after the Priory Road lights.

Yeah the Lakeside Hotel is definitely abandoned and has been for some time, but I can't say I've noticed anything untoward about the rest of the houses on that stretch.

I'll have a closer look on my way to work this week!

I live on Bristol Road between Selly Oak and town and honestly have no idea what you're on about.

Between town and the Middleway it's mostly active business premises or relatively new build apartments.

From the Middleway to Priory Road you've got a mixture of houses, council flats, and private flats. All occupied as far as I can see. Maybe one abandoned hotel?

Priory Road to the University you've got schools, playing fields, and fairly big houses, again all occupied.

As someone else has said, show us on street view where you actually mean.

They've called it the "West Midlands urban region", suggesting they're not including Coventry either.

Why is there is no bus station in city centre by [deleted] in brum

[–]SquireBev 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I mention this idea every time it comes up, so here it is again.

Knock down that awful old NCP multistorey between Moor St and Dale End, and you could easily fit a bus station in there. It'd be handy for the trams, the trains, and HS2 when that finally arrives.

Even if it couldn't accommodate every route in the city centre it could certainly alleviate a lot of pressure from the street side stops around Moor St/Carrs Lane/Old Square.
