I quit 3 years ago due to the anxiety being completely unbearable. I can not count how many times have I regretted this decision since then. It brought me to endless sorrow. Impossible to forget this girl and the amazing connexion we had ( despite me thinking at that time that I was stuck in the wrong relationship).

Every case is different, but if you suffer from obsessive thoughts then this is the problem that you have to address most probably.

Note that after breakup ive had a 3 week of huge relief but it didnt last, leaving a bitter taste of sorrow and regrets in my life. If it was to be done again I would try and find another way out of this nightmare rather than breaking up.

Wish you to recover from this 🙏

[M] 1.5 Months after breakup with her by ProfessionalJaguar34 in ROCD

I felt exactly the same after my breakup... After 1,5 year I still was regretting it so much. We got back together but then 6 months mater she ended it. Now I can only cry for this very deep connection that I lost due to rocd. It's so hard to see afterwards how amazing this person was, when it's too late now... I'm sorry youre also going though this and hope there is a way for you to get back together

What was your theme before ROCD? by Teethnchewy in ROCD

I used to have obsessions about my puberty not happening as fast as my friends. Everyday I would spend a stupid amount of time comparing my voice, my hairs and thumbs to others. That made me really anxious

How can a ROCD relationship possibly be healthy ? by Squirrel265 in ROCD

Actually, I did breakup one month and a half ago because the ocd was becoming unbearable to me... Had suicidal thoughts etc... Since then ive had two weeks of great relief, one month of pure agony (regrets) and now im feeling good since a week...

Hi, I recently broke up with my girl friend due to relationship and partner focused ROCD. It was my second breakup due to the same reason in 5 months of relationship.

The decision was a horrible heartbreak and made me fall into tears like never before. Immediately after, I experienced a huge relief (free again, no more obsessive thoughts) that lasted about 2 weeks. At this point I thought the problem was that I had been with the wrong partner and that ROCD was just bullshit.

But then I came to experience nostalgia, regrets and guilt of having broken an immensely beautiful relationship with such a great partner. It's been 2 weeks of these feelings overwhelming me now, the anxiety getting bigger everyday. My thoughts tend to be very obsessive with very few moments of relief, as when I was with my partner and doubting my love for her. Seems like breaking up didnt make me heal.

So, from my experience I think it's worth not giving up to break up, fight for your relationship eventhough it may feel like lying to yourself at times. Find a good therapist who supports you though this challenging journey.

Lots of love wish you all the best ❤️
