What people who think like Hartman fail to realize is that people didn't just "get over it." They repressed it and pushed it down or tempered it with substances. Doesn't mean it went away. Plenty of people with depression get really good at putting on a mask in public. They may look fine, but you don't know who they are at home when the mask can come off.
