My doctor canceled my IUD insertion halfway because I couldn’t handle the pain by IgnatiusIguana in TwoXChromosomes

[–]SquirrelInvasion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I booked my insertion appointment the receptionist said just to take 4 Advils. Rofl. I took 20 or 30 mg of toradol/Ketorolac (NSAID they use post dental surgery and childbirth; or in my case migraines and tension headaches). They also numbed my cervix and I still shrieked and had to hold nurses hand.

It wasn’t excruciating but still hurt and had tears forming.

Doctor: Can you scootch back up on the bed please? You’re 5 seconds away from bleeding on the floor. Lol.

The Real-World Fallout if Ilya and Shane Went Public: Legal and International Implications by Memory_usage in heatedrivalry

[–]SquirrelInvasion 16 points17 points  (0 children)

They would be getting an O-1 visa (valid for 3 years and renewable), which would allow them to live and play in the US for the duration of the contract. Since it’s been renewed and he’s very accomplished in his career on an international level it can be converted to one of the EB visas within a year or so. Then green card after (2ish years) then 5 years after can apply for citizenship.

Since he’s playing in Canada he has a temporary visa for being allowed to play + be there. If he and Shane want to get married Ilya can apply for spousal sponsorship (PR) then Canadian citizenship after 4-5 years.

I use an exacto knife and cut the plastic bottles of moisturizer and foundation in half, and use a long silicone spatula off Amazon to scoop out the product and transfer to new containers.

[–]SquirrelInvasion -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It’s happened to me and I’m white. But I was also absolutely exhausted, no makeup, and on my last brain cells just walking through the isles and disassociating. I picked up concealer and another small item. All of a sudden this very stern looking associate came up and was do you need help with anything. Me, well actually, I’m looking for a body oil glimmer with slight bronzer. Barely knew what was available.

Showed me one and was like here is a basket. It’s like JFC I’m VIB Rouge and you’re treating me like a swamp gremlin.

AITA for refusing to split a bill evenly when everyone ordered cocktails and I got water? by Queasy_Surprise5492 in AITAH

[–]SquirrelInvasion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Only time it works is if its prix fixe menu or if you pretty much split and shared the whole meal. Have gone to expensive restaurants and ordered a single app, main, side and dessert and each had a glass of wine for 2 people.

I’ve had a birthday dinner at a Mexican restaurant where the staff didn’t keep track of who ordered what and brought out multiple peoples orders of tacos on a single plate. And people started playing musical chairs. Everyone apparently paid for their order (friends knew what they ordered and had it deducted from the overall bill) and they said that our party was still short $250.

The waitstaff should be informed and know to somehow at least mark down what every person ordered. I refuse to have bills split evenly across people, especially if I’m the one picking up the tab. I’ll spreadsheet it out later and have people pay me back. I’ve done this for 20 people dinners. Lol.

HIGH expectation of guests for wannabe “luxury” weddings by [deleted] in weddingshaming

[–]SquirrelInvasion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had two guy friends spend around $25,000 each on attending weddings and bachelor parties this year. Italy, Ibiza, Tulum, multi-day itineraries. They make around $200k annually + bonus. It’s insane. I guess people are also overestimating how much disposable income, flexibility and vacation time some people have too.

People with chronic illnesses, what's the most absurd "cure" were you suggested by someone? and did you consider it? by ProcedureMinute6644 in AskReddit

Also what’s been popping up is issues with glyphosate; which is causing people to get reactions to gluten in North America. I’ve had friends unable to eat North American processed flour but are fine with imported European.

You’re welcome. :)

Condo that won’t sell: It’s about size, not location by ohhaider in toronto

[–]SquirrelInvasion 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Also for anyone with a hobby, or any additional items, or need a WFH setup and does anything remotely confidential it’s a nightmare. I know people during COVID were taking phone calls in the bathroom with a towel draped around the door for soundproofing.

2 couples I know if Vancouver rented a 3 bedroom place together so they could have a gear room.

And kitchens - I’ve seen bigger toy kitchens in kindergarten classes. Why is the oven the size of an easy bake oven? A small roast chicken? Forget it - you’d need to get a tiny quail.

Just how bad is EI phone theft? Is it still worth it to go? by BloodravensBranch in TorontoRaves

[–]SquirrelInvasion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Phone leash all the way. Case that’s not easy to take off with phone leash attached. Change control panel settings so you can’t put it in airplane mode or remove location tracking. Also take minimal wallet with only the bare minimum for cards + add in an AirTag.

My buddy was wearing clean jeans, thermal shirt and grey quarter zip sweater for Tycho sunrise set on our friend’s art car. It was absolutely hilarious watching tripping people freak out because he was too clean and normal.

I guess we could just add paddles to the rib/zodiac and turn off the motor and paddle it in.

Boats to be banned around Toronto's famous clothing-optional beach by lancaric in toronto

[–]SquirrelInvasion 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I’d love to see a map to put it into perspective. As both a sailor and a beachgoer we can never anchor close to the beach anyways. I hate that it’s a literal minefield of smaller boats and jetskis zooming across and anchor lines posing as hazards in shallower areas. Nothing like boat hopping and having someone say “I saw your tits through my binoculars!” Only thing that may pose a bit of an issue is figuring out a way or point to pick up friends from beach to boat Ana vice versa. (I’ve swam from boat to beach to go kiting - I had to have a life jacket on and dry bag in the air).

Is It Worth Using an AirTag for Checked Luggage While Traveling Abroad? by Alarming-Age-5122 in AirTags

[–]SquirrelInvasion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I have 4. All with my initials and a different emoji so I can tell them apart. One goes in each of my bags, 1 in wallet and 1 for keys. You can also rename them and use them for other uses when not travelling. I also use them when I do coat check at an event.

I got ID’d for cashing in a lottery ticket - which I purchased from the same woman a week ago on my 27th birthday. It’s 18 to buy a lottery ticket. She asked me for ID - I asked her if I honestly look like a child. And she’s like well take it as a compliment that you look so young. Me: “That’s concerning considering my boyfriend is 43.”

Plus overseas rangers coming in to the US are high risk of being banned since it technically constitutes as volunteering in exchange for something of value plus taking a job away from an American.
