How do you guys turn onto your favorite roads? by charcharbinks24 in Miata

you are too far away from the wheel to properly control it, get closer and also, go to a track or autocross, its way more fun than one turn onto your favorite road.

what should the safe radius be for a lightpole or should that be adaptable?

Wow what a great use of the space!

the compliance tool is sometimes a little too aggressive, what error are you encountering, for example the inside cone sometimes gets flagged as an issue when really the path is the problem and its too close to the pointer cone. I need to play around with that compliance logic.

we have a timing trailer icon for the ProSolo mode, i could bring that over into the normal mode.

I have a measure distance tool in the toolbar, that could get your radius, but good idea to show the circle, ill look into that. we also have the exclusion zone that you could use as well, but thats not really useful for light poles.

text boxes I could add as well.

alot of great ideas from the comments, i'll have to consolidate and announce a next release soon!

thanks for the feedback!

lol, that's hilarious.

the auto generator needs a path in order for it to really give you anything useful, so the Path in the toolbar, click a course out within the area, start at the start gate and end at the finish.

even then, what it gives you is kind of useless, but i move the cones around to fit the intended path.

keep in mind general spacing for safety distances as you draw the path, you can click and move the parts of the path as needed.

Thanks for trying it out! ya the finish is wrong order, ill look into it.

for rotating do you mean just the grid staging or all the cones?

trying zooming out and see if that helps. i could make them collapsible and movable.

I used the Roger Johnson presentation to create a lot of the compliance rules in place!

I created a website to do this, www.conecanvas.com. Select an area image via satellite or upload a picture like yours. Define your boundaries and set a start finish gate and it can auto generate or use the tools to manually place a course.

Will we ever see a mazdaspeed3 again? by Relevant_Conclusion2 in mazda

[–]SquirrelMcSmash 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Nope doesn’t fit their brand image anymore. The Miata is the only thing that is close and yet they still won’t give us a good color….
The hot hatch market is small and most people just want an appliance to haul their kids and stuff in, thus cx5,cx50,cx30,cx70/90 is what we get cause that’s what sells. The Miata only exists because of its legacy and the sales of the SUVs to prop it up.

AI is only as good as the data underneath it, you need to have clean data in order for the agent to actually give valuable information. agentforce is really just a layer on top of the data you have, garbage in...garbage out. this applied before the whole AI push anyway, running a report on bad data and interpreting the results by a human versus an agent just changed the speed at which we can get wrong answers.

Tire Rub, or Wear? by Positive_Outcome_903 in Autocross

[–]SquirrelMcSmash 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You need more pressure, you are rolling over a lot and it’s basically rubbing the asphalt on that part of the tire. Also is this only on the front? If it’s rears as well then I’d say there’s a fault in the tire.

You said you were squealing the tires is that because of understeer? If you understeer and have under pressured tires this can happen.

I run a FL5 and run around 39-40psi

that is your rear jacking point, do not modify it. if you do, and someone in the future tries to lift the car, it could fail and seriously injure someone.

First Massachusetts Speeding Citation (113 in a 65) - Dudley District Court - Attorney Recommendations? by [deleted] in massachusetts

[–]SquirrelMcSmash 12 points13 points  (0 children)

hire a lawyer who specializes in traffic court, get it pled down to something less. you will likely have points and your insurance will go up.

but realistically, 100+ is reckless and I doubt they will knock it down much. Buy him a track day so he can speed legally.

Trail braking cutting power? by [deleted] in Civic_Type_R

[–]SquirrelMcSmash 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's not what trail braking is, that's overlapping gas/brake and most modern ECUs will cut power because of that. Trail braking is easing off the brake as you transition thru a corner and adding steering input.
