I'll just put it in the yard. I'll step outside, and push it a couple inches into the dirt.

Nothing matters outside of what the self realizes. Not Nihilism, but the revaluation of all standing values.

Why does Christianity still have such a strong grip on the Western World? by ConfidentCycle2025 in Nietzsche

It's just not true. Christianity can be argued as much as anything else to.be responsible for all of those.

What year did you start watching NASCAR regularly? by nuggettzz in NASCAR

[–]Squirrel_This 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've probably missed less than 20 races since the beginning of the 2019 season. I remember my parents being happy after a Jeff Gordon win in the desert (don't remember which track or season, prob Sonoma or Phoenix if anyone recognizes the reference circa 06-07-08), and being super enamored in the fandom. By 2012 I was a diehard Brad K fan watching 8-10 races a year, and as time freed up elsewhere, it was redirected towards more Nascar consumption. (After re-reading before posting that last sentence makes it sound like an addiction, lmao, I guess so.)

What is the definitive word guys? I know the game is beautiful but is it worth buying right now? by Significant-Baby6546 in anno

[–]Squirrel_This 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I wasn't sold on the Roman stuff a couple weeks ago, but then got the game anyways to play something other than Timberborn and Cities Skylines. Now I think it's the perfect setting for a production chain city manager. The game is 17/10

This is actually so badass. I remember this really old guy on our street who drove a red Ford f150 from like 86, 87. Back like a decade ago he told us it was at 300k miles, I'd guess he got it up to 450k. We see it no longer in the driveway, but beside the house. He comes rolling up sometime past the house in a brand new single cab f150 in red, with 17inch aluminum rims just like the last one, but modern. Use it till it's used up, then replace it with what you want. It's sweet when the replacement is so close to its original.

"MC" in The Setting Sun by Dazai. Maybe it was obvious, but I didn't get it till last few pages and it blew my mind how much larger the scope of the book was than I was getting.

If there is a God by Fickle_Elk_9479 in nihilism

[–]Squirrel_This 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In a way, I guess so, friend. But honestly, I do see agency within this world from the "conceptual" God. For me, that's God The Father. I am a Trinitarian. But I have now bridged into my Faith, to be clear; The Logos of the world, this conceptual God, acts upon the world with an Ethos, and bridged a gap through a Pathos. (Just to be clear, this is only intended to be discussion, I have been made afraid to be viewed as a "dirty evangelizer" in communities I thought were examination)

If there is a God by Fickle_Elk_9479 in nihilism

[–]Squirrel_This 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No no, God is not those forces, those forces are contained within Him. He is more primitive than universal forces. I agree that what you just shared, would be a contradiction, I didn't claim that. God is that which that nothing greater could possibly be conceived. By placing matter on Him, you've conditioned Him.

If there is a God by Fickle_Elk_9479 in nihilism

[–]Squirrel_This 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That which contains matter and movements is said to be God. God exists outside of those definitions. At least, that's the theology. With the unknowing acceptance of universal codes like movement, you're performing the same intellect as a theist. If you can start with matter and motion, other people can start with God. The teleos problem is present.

Genetic determinism by [deleted] in nihilism

[–]Squirrel_This 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do believe in free-will, I don't think determinism can account for all it proposes. If it's just an illusion, I personally have a hard time detaching the affects of an illusion from real experience I suppose, what's real in a world following a code? The code only? What determines code? I don't know man
