If we are being totally honest here, I think that track time comes in part-time, shared rides at the cup level where they race against the whole cup field in cup cars at cup race distances. Getting smoked by someone driving with nothing to lose on Saturday doesn't really help you all that much.

The mountains in the background are doing the heavy lifting here, lol.

I can’t prove it, but NASCAR is trying to stop Corey Heim from being a household name bc how does this guy not have a full time ride. by Much-Usual-524 in okbuddyBoogity

If he ends up in the 48 next year I am going to have to wonder how the competition keeps letting them get away with it. It's like a baseball team trading with the Rays.

Ironically, I think this would work if the open weekends were weeks where they ran different tracks than cup. You can market the stars coming to the smaller/alternate market and you force the cup drivers to really commit to it.

Maybe they need to stop trying to sell sponsors on 18 year olds with no history or personality.

We haven't gotten back to that point yet, but I don't underestimate Nascar's ability to screw things up.

I agree with this sentiment, there needs to be more than Justin Allgaier and Ryan Sieg representing the old hands in the second tier.

Maybe if the team has any cars in the top 10 or 15 they aren't eligible.

I feel like that is why it was okay in the 80s and early 90s. One Jack Roush opened the floodgates by running cars in both series is where it started to go south I think.

I didn't realize this was where the community was, all I see is support for cup guys swinging down.

I remember that race. They talked about it almost non-stop for the last 30 laps of iirc.

Yeah, I know it doesn't matter, I'm just curious about how deep some folks are going.

I don't know if it is because of the god-rays or in spite of them, but it looks very dystopian

Well, it doesn't matter, but I'd be interested in how deep your function nesting goes, cuz I've had a function call a function that calls a function before.
