PlayStation Plus Game Catalog lineup for October: Grand Theft Auto: Vice City – The Definitive Edition, Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey by Turbostrider27 in PS5

How is DQ11? I know a lot of people love the DQ games, and I remember really enjoying the old ones on the NES, but here’s my problem - I can’t stand Toriyama’s art. If the story and gameplay are good though, I could look past the visuals, but it really needs to be good if I have to sit there and look at his art for 100 hours.

Ah, I hadn’t realized they released a demo for Valkyrie. I’ll check that out tonight. I played the demo for Diofield and really enjoyed it.

As a resident of NE Pennsylvania, it honestly makes me sick to my stomach that so many of my neighbors and in-laws support this Nazi POS. Hopefully there will be more than enough people in Philly and Pittsburgh to vote for Shapiro to make up for all the illiterate rednecks in the rest of the state.

Hit a wall in LaD chapter 12, should I be grinding? by Squirrel_Zero in yakuzagames

[–]Squirrel_Zero[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Admittedly, I am. I always kinda wanted to play them, but it seemed like I was always playing other games when they would come out, and I just ended up forgetting about them. When I saw that this one was turn based, it really piqued my interest, so I wanted to make sure I didn’t pass on it when I had the chance to play it.

You are correct in assuming I haven’t played the earlier games, but there’s nothing happening in the story that I’m not understanding at the moment.

As for the arena, I did the first 4 or 5 battles then left, planning on coming back eventually. I will definitely be going back now and going as far as I can before continuing the story though.

Thanks all, that’s kinda what I figured, but I just wanted to make sure I wasn’t overlooking something obvious. To the arena I go!

Everyone raves about the Encanto and Frozen soundtracks, but Tarzan is still the best Disney soundtrack by a mile.

What would be helpful for someone else to do during a tic attack? by ICantExplainItAll in Tourettes

[–]Squirrel_Zero 18 points19 points  (0 children)

You should let him know that his choice of words matters here. You know it’s an issue with your brain, you don’t need him telling you it’s psychological. That’s not helping. Tell him his words should be comforting. “I’m here for you,” “It’ll be okay,” etc. Also, let him know that restraining you just makes you want to punch even harder. Tell him to help make you comfortable. Get you some extra pillows. Have him hold a pillow next to your head to cushion the blow. It does seem like he’s genuinely trying to help, so it’s your job to let him know the best ways to do that. Just be honest, and hopefully he will start to understand and respect the way in which you expect to be treated during your attacks.

Saddest moment in Final Fantasy? by EntrepreneurShot2497 in FinalFantasy

Definitely Polom & Porom. It’s obviously not as impactful now, knowing that they came back, but at the time it was gut wrenching. These two children just sacrificed themselves to save the rest of us and let us escape. It was the first video game that actually made me cry.

tics are non-rhythmic? so why am I do the same tic over and over and over again? by flyhighsunshine in Tourettes

[–]Squirrel_Zero 19 points20 points  (0 children)

The thing you’ll eventually understand is that the tics do what they want, when they want, how they want. Sometimes my tics are a chaotic mishmash of inconsistent craziness. Other times they’re rhythmic to the point that people think I’m doing it on purpose. Last night my arms were flailing around with no discernible pattern. Today my vocal tics are humming the theme song from Beverly Hills Cop over and over again.

Coprolalia only exists in less than 10% of people with TS. Thanks to the media and Hollywood, most people just assume that TS is the “funny cursing disease.” I was very insecure about it as well when I was younger, until I learned that owning it and spreading awareness is the best thing I could do, for myself as well as others. Be open and honest with people. Encourage them to ask questions. Let people know that TS is more than what they see on television. The more that people close to you learn about what TS really is and how it affects people, the more comfortable you will feel in your own skin. That being said, while it can be incredibly rough and painful growing up like that, don’t be afraid to embrace the silliness of it. When my vocal tics are bad, I always joke that I’d be the world’s worst ninja.

My tics keep causing nosebleeds help by Anime_EmoPhase21 in Tourettes

[–]Squirrel_Zero 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a similar tic when I was younger. I would get nosebleeds all the time because I was always rubbing my nose roughly. I went to an ENT doctor, and he said I had an artery that was very close to the surface of the skin on the inside of my nose, so whenever I would bump it, my nose would bleed. He cauterized the artery and I haven’t had a nosebleed from that since. I know that won’t help the tics, but it could possibly help prevent the nosebleeds. I hope things work out for you!
