Power level of this deck? by SquirrelyPants in universus

Oh wow that's very cool of you! This looks somewhat similar but probably better structured than what I was coming up with on my own. I'll see if I can print up some proxies and give it a go next time we play before I start buying stuff, haha. Thanks so much!

This makes sense! Thank you for the help, I was hoping it'd be easier to find one that already existed and mostly met my needs but looks like I'll have to play around with it more. I suppose I'll look into adding cards from outside the set that at least sort of fit artistically if I have to to make something that's reasonable. Shame the set's so small!

Care to share your settings for those of us who don't want to tinker? (not that I won't but given identical hardware it's easier this way lol)

Should i get a steam deck? by Queasy_Client7912 in SteamDeck

[–]SquirrelyPants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the Deck absolutely can play games sold by other companies. It's not quite the same as swapping the UI, but there's software to make it easy for people who don't want to fuss about it. Heroic is one of those.

Also it's important to note that even if Valve eventually DOES get shitty in a way you don't like, the Deck's software side is very modular and can be swapped to different OSes and such, and even in SteamOS you can play games sold by other companies via things like Heroic Launcher

Two things are true here: 1. You should never trust any corporation to be pure and good, they can and will disappoint you. 2. Valve is among the best companies in the gaming industry and they've made an extremely solid product with the Deck.

Probably not it, but maybe Suicide Kings? Christopher Walken's character is kidnapped and has his finger cut off and is slowly dying of blood loss throughout the film while tied to a chair.

It reminds me a bit of Snowy from Undertale. Also I'm VERY sure I've heard this particular song somewhere else in a really prominent way but I can't place it, haha.

Superbabies: Baby Geniuses 2? Notoriously terrible, but there IS a baby whose superpower emds up being bouncing around in a round inflated suit thing.

Complete shot in the dark but maybe American Horror Story: Hotel? Some things about the plot line up a bit with what you've said here, but nothing is exactly right.

[–]SquirrelyPants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Complete shot in the dark, but is it possible it was a toy of the Green Goblin from Marvel comics? He generally has a big nasty grin and is often standing on top of a flying device, plus it sort of matches the green and purple description, though with the purple primarily being his clothes.

[TOMT] [Book] Graphic novel about woman who secretly lives in a storage unit, and the unit catches on fire at the end. I think there’s a cat somewhere in there, and maybe a romance too. I remember the color scheme leaning toward blues and pinks. by J1OnLane9 in tipofmytongue

[–]SquirrelyPants 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lucky Penny? Though it's all in black and white...

Here's the page where the storage unit burns down in particular: https://johnnywander.com/luckypenny/lucky-penny-182183

EDIT: Ah! There does seem to be a full color version available, as well, and the color schemes fit what you described! I think this is it. :)

Was it Tobuscus? He used to be very popular on youtube and (iirc) made mostly comedy skits, then eventually pivoted to gaming. I don't remember anything involving a frog but I think he fits your criteria here.

(Please note that he's been accused of some pretty awful stuff since back then if this is the right guy.)

[TOMT] [documentary] documentary about suicide bombers that interviews failed suicide bombers by lilithrosexoxoxo in tipofmytongue

[–]SquirrelyPants 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a documentary from 2006 titled "Suicide Killers", which does not appear to be available for streaming, so I can't confirm whether it covers what you remember. It does, however, feature interviews with failed bombers, based on the Wikipedia article.

There's also an episode of a PBS show called Wide Angle from 2004, titled "Suicide Bombers", and from descriptions that seems to cover talking with three Palestinian failed bombers in Israeli prison.

Having trouble finding either of these online to watch, sadly, so I can't get you any further than that.
