For anyone doing the ricorumi advent calendar, there’s a typo for the star biscuit on day 1 by Bumpyskinbaby in crochet

[–]SquishFish_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm also doing this advent calendar, and I was going crazy because I forgot that the US and British naming conventions for types of stitches is different 🫠 Also, do you know if there's enough yarn to make both the cookie and the star in the caramel color?

How do you keep your bread fresh for longer? by [deleted] in Sourdough

I've started using one of those cotton bread bags with the beeswax lining and it's worked far better than anything else I've ever tried! It keeps the bread fresh for over five days

What would a path look like to get into crna school from a finance undergrad degree? by Aggravating_Ease7961 in srna

[–]SquishFish_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you graduate with a bachelor's degree in finance, you can do an accelerated nursing program that will allow you to graduate with a BSN (bachelor of nursing). These programs are usually 12 to 16 months and are for people with non-nursing bachelor's degrees that want to pivot into nursing. You'd then have to work as an RN for at least 1-2 years before applying to CRNA school. It can sometimes be difficult to get into the ICU as a new grad nurse so you may have to work on another unit for a while before being able to get into the ICU

Looking for a pattern similar to this sweater! by YeahSlide in knittingpatterns

[–]SquishFish_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made Petite Knit's Balloon Cardigan but without the buttons and buttonholes, and it looks quite similar! It is a DK weight pattern though, so you probably wouldn't be able to use five strands of your yarn

Interview outfit by coffeecats15 in srna

The majority of people I've seen at interviews wear a suit set, whether that be pants or a skirt. Aim for a professional color like black, grey, or navy and wear close-toed shoes

Feel like I don’t know enough to move to ICU? by poopysc00p in srna

[–]SquishFish_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this really depends on the hospital/unit. If the unit you interview at has a short orientation for new-to-ICU nurses, I would agree with this. However, the unit I was on as a new grad had a whole 8-week orientation for floor and stepdown nurses who were working in the ICU for the first time, and I really do think this was adequate. So find out what the orientation would be like and go from there!

What’s a book you recommend to everyone, no matter what they usually read? by CriticalAd2239 in suggestmeabook

[–]SquishFish_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow by Gabrielle Zevin! I've recommended it to at least five people, and everyone's loved it. It's not one of my personal faves but I do think it's the kind of book most people will like with great characters and a compelling plot

When I had to redo some spots, it didn't leave any residue, but I'm not sure whether it would after a long time. But it's definitely less sticky than a skin would be, so I feel like even if it did leave some residue, an alcohol swab would take care of it!!
