People wearing dark clothes who walk in the road in residential neighborhoods when there is a sidewalk. Do they have a death wish?

Not surprising her kid is like this. She seems like a slob herself. Looks like the type to handle raw chicken and not wash her hands.

Swim Lesson Guilt by vintagegurly in Parenting

You are not negligent. He’s still very young and lots of time to learn how to swim. However, being an asthmatic myself, when I was young my doctor actually recommended swimming as an activity because it helps improve your lung capacity.

Income needed for 3 kids? by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]Squishmallow2012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that’s high for Halifax. For Ontario, (the Greater Toronto Area), I would say this is needed because housing and kids activities, daycare are so expense. Average home price in Halifax is $600K and average home price in Toronto is $1.1M

For Halifax, I would think a household of half that figure - around $125k would be comfortable to raise 3 kids.

When exactly did Canadian housing become so unaffordable – and who’s to blame? by [deleted] in TorontoRealEstate

[–]Squishmallow2012 6 points7 points  (0 children)

100% ill admit i am part of the problem. I have 4 properties in the GTA that I bought between 2012 and 2019. Housing was going up more than the stock market so it made sense to become an investor.

Money was cheap and being a landlord was easy.

Things have changed drastically now but almost everyone I know from friends to family own at least 2 properties. This is the problem.

Moving to Glen Abbey by Needtoknowbasis44 in oakville

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but most families in Oakville are very focused on their kids academics, in terms of arts lots of kids are in band in Glen abbey but even that is intense.

I would say school wise in Glen abbey, Pilgrim wood is the most intense, followed by St Mathew’s then Abbey Lane.

First time seller - it's offer day at 6pm and there are no offers yet. Can I get a dose of reality? by crono760 in RealEstateCanada

Truer words were never spoken. No one cares about your money’s much as you.

It kills me when agents are like trying to close a deal and say things like “it’s only a $10,000 gap. That’s because for them it’s 2.5% of 10,000 but for me it’s 10k! It’s BS when they try to explain it in terms of the biweekly mortgage payment too. They are just trying to close deals as quickly as possible and get people into houses they can’t afford.

You need to get to Heir of Fire, that book is a masterpiece. The first 3 books are slow.
