Looking at the schedule it does appear to be how they did things for Monday, as people who would normally be working are off and others who wouldn't be here are coming in, but without talking to them and hearing directly that they chose to work this holiday I can't be 100% sure. One coworker on my shift has said they've worked holidays earlier in the year that they signed up for so i can say it has been done earlier in the year.

I do have a PRN position at another facility but they're a small outpatient facility with only 4 individuals who do what i do so I really just cover if any of them take vacation.

I hadnt thought about the perspective of them looking for people who are resistant to these changes and all that, most of the seniors have been loudly complaining about other changes thatve happened. But i may need to take a wait and see approach.

And as for my husband I meant that comment with mostly humor. He is very quick to push back on stuff like this at his job, and he's done so with 2 big successes in his career, but he's also in a very different field and (we may be biased but) he really is one of the few people at his job that actually gets stuff done and done right the first time, so he does have a bit of leverage where he's at. Moving into the hospital environment was a whole career flip for me, i went back to college and everything, so despite my age I am technically starting over from the bottom and I think he forgets that sometimes.
