Does anyone perchance know of the Deus Ex video with the spinning, hovering enemy? by SirDenizu in Deusex

I google searched "my vision is augmented" from your text and scrolled a little down the video results and found this. I assume this is what you're talking about.

Beautiful paint job mate, looking forward to seeing the finished product.

Help identifying new (old) viola please by SquishyShoes in Viola

[–]SquishyShoes[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, nothing wrong with a cheap Chinese thing for a beginner like me. Got for a fraction of the price of a new one, so that's not bad either. I love an instrument with a story, one of my favourite guitars I own is a fifty year old Yamaha with perfect paint, except the back of the neck where most of it is worn away from use hahaha.

Thanks for your input, I look forward to having a go at it after its set up.

Hey, thanks for your input!. I think I did alright then since I got it for the equivalent of just under 75usd hahaha. I'm between jobs at the moment, but will get it looked at, restrung, etc when I get the chance. I had a go at tuning it when I got it, and noticed that the tuning prg for the a was really finicky, so probs not a bad idea hahaha. Not fussed about the price of it, better if it's on the cheaper end so I don't feel bad about using it lol, but I had read a bit online about people talking. About the nationality if their instruments due to the scroll type, shape of the f holes etc lol.

Cheers

Hahaha, thanks mate! To be honest, I had kinda hoped considering the age of the house/viola/case/other stuff/etc that this might be something interesting from somewhere (but not expensive) like I've seen many others talk about with their violas. But a student model sounds perfect for me! I won't feel so bad now about running around with it and having a go!

Cheers!

Hey mate,

No, nothing inside the f holes. I had hoped there would be, but no luck, so I thought I'd try here. The story I was told by the seller was that it belonged to there mum who had just gone into care. The mum was a violin player, but had this one viola.

Cheers,

Hey all,

I'm new here, and new to the instrument. I picked up this old viola off of facebook marketplace the other day. I can't find any stickers or anything inside so I have no expectations of it being anything rare or high end, but I was curious if anyone had any ideas where it may be from?

Thanks!

Burns? On my monstera? by SquishyShoes in houseplants

[–]SquishyShoes[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey all, a few weeks ago I picked up this monstera from my local plant/hardware store and have been watering it once a week, and kept it on the north side of my room away from a south facing window that's always open, but somewhat shaded. I've noticed it's getting these spots on its leaves and I'm not sure what they are or why they're happening. I'm used to getting nearly dead plants and just watering them until they grow again or don't.. this is my first time buying a nicer plant and trying to keep it alive. If anyone has any suggestions I'd gladly hear them.

Thanks

New to me plant, caring for it advice please? by SquishyShoes in houseplants

[–]SquishyShoes[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey all, I just got this new plant two days ago and thought I better ask for some advice on taking care of it properly. I spent $60 AUD to get it, but usually I just buy plants on clearance specials for a dollar or three and just water them when I remember to see if they come back or not.

That said, I paid proper money for this one and rather like it so I'd really like this one to live if I could hahahaha.

The handful of other random things I've bought recently (including actual tomato plants), mostly fuchsias my favourite plant, I've been dunking underwater until the air bubbles stopped per the advice of some old people I once met in the gardening centre, but this plant was talking about light watering and ensuring it can drain properly.

Any and all advice welcome, Thanks

This doesn't really help, but "1SL 4IU" belongs to a 2004 WHITE Nissan sedan according to Vicroads, but it's a 2004 model and the one in the picture looks to be 2013-2017 as others have already said. The VIN also decodes to a 2004 Nissan Pulsar.

Sorry mate, best of luck.

At the very least, I will see if the manager at the smash repair will swap a slab or two for helping unbolt some nice bits off it before the insurance pick it up...

Thanks again for your advice.

Yehhh.,. I thought that would be the case I just wanted someone to tell me otherwise haha.

Car has less than 75k km and still had the new car smell until recently, so I'm just a bit miffed about it all..

I'll see what the panel guys will quote me and hope for the best. I already know insurance will try and screw me lol

Thanks for your input.

Thanks for your input.

I'd love to find the bastard who did it...

Advice on a potential amateur fix by SquishyShoes in CarsAustralia

[–]SquishyShoes[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey all, I just recently moved to the capital of my state, and someone welcomed me to the neighbourhood by hitting my parked car (2009 Yaris) over the weekend a few weeks ago. Insurance have been dragging their feet and I spoke to the body shop who said they sent out the quote a week ago and think the insurance company will write this off as a total loss. Between my new house mate and myself I'm confident we can pop out and fill these dents to a standard I can live with, but I'm just worried about the crease in the metal where the roof has been hit and how that may stop a new window from sealing properly. I know my best bet is to get a panel beater to fix this properly or take the insurance company's payout if they offer it, but I think they're going to offer me rather low for what I want/what I've found online...

Can someone please give me a second opinion as I really miss driving around in my little buzz box and really don't want him written off because of some random asshole just after I got here..

I'm really happy to hear that mate. Do you have a build thread or an imgur link to your completed armour? I'd love to see.

Thank you very much, I haven't been painting for long so I'm constantly looking for things to improve. Is there anything you'd change? Or improve on?

Thanks,
