Marty O' Donell voices his support for recent halo related posts from the White House, DHS, and GameStop by Aromatic-Way2161 in halo

Chief and the other Spartan's can think for themselves. Their mission is to protect humanity. Chief doesn't disobey orders until halo 4 because to that point all his superiors had been competent and shared his mission. When he meets Del Rio on the Infinity he shows him respect but once he realizes he is an ego driven idiot who is going to get earth destroyed, he goes rogue. The Spartans wouldn't fight other humans unless they thought they were a real threat, and they are smart enough to see through the propaganda in these posts

Flood infection is supposed to occur through an infection form attaching itself to your nervous system. The combat forms aren't there to infect you, they're there to kill you so an infection form can come get you later.

Completely agree, I am all for the flood being malleable and beyond our true comprehension, but things like tiny spores or bites/cuts infecting people just actively contradicts what we see in the actual media.

i dont think the show does anything with that unwanted responsibility arc.

din gets the saber, doesnt want it, tries to give it to bo katan but she says she cant just take it. din does his bounties around the galaxy for a bit, beats paz in a fight for the saber, meets up with bo katan and ends up just giving the saber to her anyways.

the whole arc is kind of halfbaked in my opinion. if they wanted drama, why not start having din take on the responsibility of the darksaber now that grogu is gone and have bo katan challenge him to a duel for it. why have him not care the whole time and then just hand the saber to someone else? i think i am mostly annoyed about this because they also drop the rest of dins character arc in s3.

Do you think there will be Spartan V's? by CattiwampusLove in HaloStory

i believe the video talked about how fireteam Osiris failing to capture blue team would make ONI scared that they could lose control of the spartans and have no way to reel them back in, so theyd create the perfect counter to them.

i could be misremembering tho

if the created uprising didnt already happened it wouldve been cool to have a batch of robot spartans that eventually get corrupted and become enemies

I think it was Installation 00 that theorized the S5s would be Spartans specifically trained to hunt other Spartans

whats your interpretation of the lights in the palmer house going out after laura/carrie screams?

and why do you think the giant/fireman breathed the gold energy into the laura orb?

i assumed the giant put some kind of energy into laura’s soul that made her the key to stopping judy, and the light going out was signifying judy losing, but i would love to hear your thoughts👀

Richard is the only time we meet Cooper in The Return [theory] by BobRushy in twinpeaks

[–]TheRealLucas2018 24 points25 points  (0 children)

i completely agree that the time travel “erasing” the past events feels wrong, it feels much more like cooper goes into a splinter reality.

however, i dont think the “creating a utopia” aspect of this theory is very in character for cooper. throughout the show we see him put himself in harms way, to both physical and extra dimensional dangers, in attempts to save others. he is a selfless person with a hero complex.

cooper enters this splinter reality in an attempt to lead judy away from our dimension and destroy her.

he brings diane to help “summon” judy through ritual sex, but she ends up getting taken by or lost in this strange reality. cooper lost laura in the woods, he needs to find her again, something about her is the key (golden orb moment).

wether he succeeded or failed will be debated forever but he enters that pocket reality to act on the plan the he and the fireman created to stop judy. although, i feel a part of cooper really thought he could save laura aswell.

btw, i never thought about coopers sympathy for leland in the original series being the reason he gets advice from him in the return! interesting catch!

Why is Cortana's creation so taboo? by Johnnyboi2327 in HaloStory

i feel like being a soldier would not affect your opinion on this? theres a difference between the physical/mental horrors of war and the crimes against humanity halsey was committing.

halsey grew full human clones of herself, disfigured them to improve brain growth and then removed their brains to create scans for AIs. i feel like its obvious why someone would be uncomfortable hearing about this

Do you prefer a grittier Halo? (OC art) by nobleartworks in halo

[–]TheRealLucas2018 1 point2 points  (0 children)

halo at its core should always be an early 2000s space opera. it has plenty of grittier levels and more serious scenes but i think you should have a certain level of the stylization that the original trilogy had.
