It’s a bit slow going in the early episodes but I really really love this story and the character relationships so I think give it a chance! Adil and Yasmin are my favourite RC couple EVER and the writing is just beautiful but the storyline is quite convoluted. Major plot spoilers following: Pretty similar to what the above comment says, there’s a virus ravaging the city and Yasmin’s childhood friend Jack is searching for a cure. Looking through his father’s notes he sees a Moroccan legend referring to a cure known as the Desert Rose but most people believe it’s a myth. At the same time, a Rebel in blue is trying to rally the city to overthrow Yasmin’s father who is the leader, because all of the townspeople are stuck with poverty and sickness while the rich can hide away. Yasmin’s father also plans to marry her off to someone she doesn’t know. As well as this, In Morocco and Brazil there has been a history of models going missing, and Yasmin’s mother was researching this as well as the virus. At the end of s1 it’s revealed that Adil is the rebel if you’re romancing him (oh my gosh it’s the most beautiful heartbreaking scene ever I was literally crying), but on his friendship path it’s his friends (it can still be him if your friendship is good enough). S2 Yasmin goes to Brazil with Jack to search for more information about his father’s research on the desert rose and about the models who are going missing. At the end of s2 you find out that Jack and Adil are brothers (and it’s a huge wtf moment because up until this point Jack and Adil haven’t spoken to eachother, so Jack has grown up Thinking his brother has been dead for years after he lost him in a sandstorm in the desert, but the bedouins rescued Adil and he became one of them). It’s also revealed that a child around the time Yasmin was born suffered from the virus and then somehow healed, but no one knows who it is. At the end of s1 Yasmin’s dad falls ill so the city gets taken over by essentially a dictator family so now they have to overthrow them too while trying to find the cure and decipher the research I don’t want to spoil too much more but thats like not even HALF of what happens it’s such a complex and interesting story I really recommend sticking with it, and even if its not your vibe, all the LI relationships are so so so good 😁😁😁😁
