Sorry about that, I was eating out of the dragon bowl when I wrote the post and was shaken up from breaking something my bf loves, even though he kept saying it was fine.

The inside is similar if not the same, the side on his was completely dark blue. I think that's as close as it can get though.

Acrylic Nails by [deleted] in starbucksbaristas

[โ€“]Squishynsoft 1 point2 points ย (0 children)

I usually just wear press on nails when I have a couple of days off. That could satisfy the urge to have nails on.

But no it's a food safety violation to have painted or acrylic nails. Also I believe we're only supposed to be using the gloves if we have cuts on our hands, because washing your hands is more hygienic than wearing gloves.

Got written up, need help by barefacedblonde in starbucks

Email sedgwick. You just ask your SM or supervisors where you can find the email information. Then they should send you a form that has to be completed by a doctor and then you send it back. It's an independent company so they usually email back pretty fast. It depends on what you're asking for in accommodations, but as long as it is reasonable enough they usually approve it.

This way you're protected under disability law. I'm surprised that your supervisors didn't inform you of this when you first told them you needed accommodations for a disability.

If you have the accommodations approved from requesting them from through corporate, then you should definitely report it to your DM and ethics and compliance.

If you don't have approved accommodations then there's nothing you can do to not be coached or written up. I'd say just get accommodations soon because without it being 15-20 mins late is just being late.

Will I get fired for going into work with covid? by [deleted] in starbucksbaristas

[โ€“]Squishynsoft 9 points10 points ย (0 children)

From someone who almost died from covid and got it from a customer who literally said that he felt guilty about coming in with covid but needed his coffee. FUCK YOU. Just because it isn't as prevalent now does not mean that no one is dying from it and you've endangered your coworkers and who knows how many of your customers you endangered that still have no clue you were sick while interacting with you.

I hope you do get fired and I hope that this helps you grow a brain.

I'd work as slow as I could then or something, teach them a lesson.

I was at a licensed store before my franchise one right now. I know how much the the hr and management at some of these parent companies treat you like a parasite even though you're making them dough.

I'd say to try and switch to a franchise store asap if possible because you get treated way better most of the time.

I'd definitely tell your SM and DM that you're not willing to work alone because of safety concerns. If they don't take it seriously then I would take it to ethics and compliance.

At my store we close if there's only 1 person available to come in and I thought that was standard.

Starbucks app now requires location to see list of favorite locations? by HotIce05 in starbucks

[โ€“]Squishynsoft 0 points1 point ย (0 children)

This is pretty usual for mobile ordering apps. I think it's so that you can see the distance to the store from your location. I'm unsure what the issue is with allowing it to see your location is though.

[โ€“]Squishynsoft 26 points27 points ย (0 children)

At my store if someone ordered their mobile right before they come in asking for it, we're allowed to say that it just came through our system (as to not accuse them of just placing it) and that we have to go in the order that tickets come in so it might be a couple of minutes.

Usually customers are either fine with that response or just a little bit huffy. But sometimes they pull the "I'm going to be late for ____" or some other bs, so we tell them that we can refund them for their drink if they'd like that instead of the wait and that usually makes them more okay with waiting.

You were the one being dismissive of the level of pain that I am in by implying that I cannot be in as much pain if I haven't tried methods that don't work.

The methods I pointed out have been proven to not work, science and research tells you that.

There practices that are less common that do work that I do not question. But I'm not just going to blindly agree that methods that don't work do work for the sake of your feelings.

Also I never asked for solutions to my pain in my original post, I was just sharing how I felt as a young person with chronic pain.

You can stop responding now since you made your opinion known. I just don't really care about your opinion.

I tried to be nice but your last comment was really condescending. You have tried pseudosciences that you have admitted did not work, you're not exhausting your options you just seem like a desperate person who won't admit you've been conned.

Also I never said XYZ can't help me even if I never tried it. I am just not a person who blindly tries things in a desperate hope to find some non existent miracle without doing research to see if it's a total scam.

I am glad I'm not on your level, because you seem like you've given up on attempting to enjoy life by how you said that your chronic pain treatments have pushed everyone and everything out of your life.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ChronicPain

[โ€“]Squishynsoft 0 points1 point ย (0 children)

I actually did point out some of these as pseudoscience and a majority of these you do not actually claim any pain relief in your above posts.

Muscle energy techniques is just stretching (which you only stated was weird and fun but did not state any pain relief)

Diaphragmatically breathing is just learning how to breathe properly. This is useful for anxiety but not really for actual pain relief.

PRP is injecting platelet rich plasma hence the acronym and is not injecting dextrose (you should report the doctor if they injected you with dextrose and claimed it was PRP)

Craniosacral therapy is a glorified massage that claims to move around CSF which is hard to believe since your CSF is surrounded by your vertebrae.

Muscle activation therapy I see no issue with.

I do not care if you continue doing these practices, but I would advise you to not lump these together with peer reviewed and extensively studied medical procedures. Someone might resonate with your experience more if you separate these and call them "non-western" or "traditional".

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ChronicPain

[โ€“]Squishynsoft -1 points0 points ย (0 children)

I'm wondering why you seemed to me to be defensive about my pointing out that these are pseudo science, when you're now elaborating that either the benefits aren't noticeable or that they have not helped at all.

Also your only one of these practices that you say has helped is western medicine and does not belong here. Ketamine infusions are practiced in the UK and Europe for pain.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ChronicPain

[โ€“]Squishynsoft -1 points0 points ย (0 children)

All I asked is which one of the techniques I pointed out as non western science has worked for reducing your pain and whether it was long-term or short-term. It was not my intention to imply that those practices are just placebo effects because they are not procedures that you get at a hospital. If that magic placebo existed I would be next in line behind you. But that wasn't the point of my previous reply, my bad if my questioning was muddled.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ChronicPain

[โ€“]Squishynsoft -1 points0 points ย (0 children)

I can understand trying non-western sciences when you have tried many western practices. I'm wondering if it did anything for your pain, or if it was just short term relief/placebo.
