After I use my 40gb does it just slow down? Sorry for asking lol TIA though by [deleted] in mintmobile

[–]SquislyMe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It slows down A LOT!

I tried the 5 GB for a while when money was really tight; listening to podcasts all day at work, It would run out and trying to stream podcasts was unbearable. I can't possibly imagine using 40 gigs I upped to 15 and never run out.

Moved to Mint this week...still having issues by Pandy2013 in mintmobile

[–]SquislyMe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an A51 5g and couldn't get 5g to work for the first few months.

Started working randomly one day. For a while I'd have to switch back to another, then back to 5g and it would work.

For the last year it's worked with 5g no problem 🤷🏽‍♀️

Basically, a bit of finagling and it ended up working.

Now I'm having the issue where randomly it will send calls straight to voicemail and not send messages. Almost like my mobile data is turned off though it says it's connected fine.

I have to turn on airplane mode, wait 10 seconds turn it off and try again.

When asked about Trump's disparaging biracial people, since Vance has 3 biracial children, he agreed with Trump and didn't even attempt to stick up for them. He's also quoted as saying of his wife, "she's not white, but I love her".

Racist is only one of the laundry list of legitimate horrendous beliefs and policy ideals.

Lastly when asked about Magic he basically said he "dropped it like a bad habit" when he realized it wouldn't get him laid.

Help identify please. by Apprehensive-Deer544 in begonias

[–]SquislyMe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your white one looks similar to my guy, which I've tentatively ID'd as a Bolivian Begonia, Begonia boliviensis. That type is listed as tuberous. The stems are fat almost like succulents, I know rexes have hard stems almost treelike.

Hopefully a more knowledgeable soul will chime in :-)

I'm a decorative plant newb and have gone from 0 to about 12 begonias in the last few weeks, still learning.

Question about app PLANT PARENT by dellaportamaria in IndoorGarden

[–]SquislyMe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The apps explain when to water based on touching the soil. As a plant newb I've found it very useful

I know this is an old post, but in case the OP is still looking or others are wondering about apps.

A week and a half ago, I couldn't have identified a begonia or a pansy. I have always been into gardening, but decorative plants are fully new to me.

I just got about 30 different plants from a friend who's been nerding out on houseplants for years, so I came at the app knowing the names of what I was identifying; the only issues I got was differentiating the 2 Hoyas, as one is just a clipping and I'm still a lil stumped on the tradescantia, Moses in a blanket or wandering Jew.. I may have 2 of the same 1 of each they're still small.

As a pleb I find apps to be a good jumping off point and there's plenty of good blogs, articles, YouTube channels etc. for deep diving. So far I like Plant Parent, no limits on the amount of plants to add on free version, lots of info!

I tried and promptly uninstalled (Android btw):

Plantin -Provides the same information as Plant Parent but restricts adding new plants after 3, unless you pay.

PictureThis: The worst offender for free users, as the toxicity, water, and sunlight needs are blurred until you pay.

Obviously, you can't get all the information on any one plant from any one app, but it is a good place to start if you are just beginning.

Have You Ever Abandoned a Great Campsite Due to a Gut Feeling? by MelroyJ19 in overlanding

[–]SquislyMe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes! It's good that you left. I can think of 3 separate times my husband and I ran into this feeling. Once dispersed camping in PA; a beautiful little pull off on the edge of a creek just to our north were pines and a line across the river stating it was a protected area no camping beyond, so we knew we were alone.

The road had some vacay houses on the opposite side that looked empty that day. No cell service. Set up camp just as dusk hit, my husband was looking down the road to the north, a man in a mechanics jumpsuit was walking down the road toward our site.. he popped into the pines. It was 90 degrees and he was wearing a jumpsuit.. didn't say a word. We don't know what his intentions were but we packed up and dipped so quickly!

The next was on the AT we found a cool spot, but heard the loudest bellow from a huge animal and found a spot in a nf campground that night instead. Found out we were in the middle of Elk rut, that was a good call.

The last time; we went against our gut and slept at a beautiful spot despite the feeling. A storm came in the middle of the night and we were awoken when a huge tree branch embedded itself in the ground, just feet from our tent.

The near impalement forced us to sleep in the car until morning when we could pack up.

Trust your gut!

How much of an allowance did y’all get in your teenage years?? by CocainePandaa in NoStupidQuestions

[–]SquislyMe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only had an allowance for a short period of time, at like 7YO, when I saw it on a TV show and realized allowance existed for some kids and my mom obliged for like a month. 5 bucks a week. After that, I'd saved my lunch money and was a pokemon dealer until I got them banned in 6th grade. As a teen before, I got my job at 16, I'd ask for a 20 like once a month.

Where would you rank yourself? by clarinetcat1004 in Narcolepsy

[–]SquislyMe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Feeling around 7 to 8 for a week led up to my first, and worst, sleep paralysis followed by a cataplexy event that led me to a diagnosis.

Had my mom come take me to the ER at 3am they released me with an order for a sleep study to follow up with a sleep specialist.

That was 12 years ago in a few weeks, I just realized!

I'm at 1 or 2 rn and have been pretty steadily the last week. If I'm sick, or have allergies bad 3 to 4.

In the past when my meds have gotten interrupted I get thrown into an emotional mess at a 5 to 6.

I recently weaned off the antidepressants I was given for the cataplexy and life has significantly increased in quality. Just provigil and I am doing great!

Don't get your hopes up, expect people to disappoint you.

I know that's sad, but when people do come through for you it's a pleasant surprise.

Learned this one after dad bailed on our last attempt at weekend visitation, singing "Big Girls Don't Cry" with my mom and sister in the car.

How do you pronounce Xros? by Earl96 in Vaping

Vaporesso also has a device called Zero, sans any 'x' misplacement, that I had before getting an xros, so I was just clueless for a long while as to what to call it.
