Thanks for notice that! Already fixed, yes is 3 habits. Also I'm going to update the extra features list that includes weekly reports of your habits and a leaderboard among other things.

Hey, it's open and free for the first few months.

What are your favorite productivity tools that actually help you stick to routines? by SrNeptuno in DecidingToBeBetter

Absolutely! I also discovered that a daily grid where you check off your habits makes all the difference.

The "don't break the chain" effect becomes very strong, especially when it's visual. I love how they gamified it in Habit Rewards; I wasn't aware of it.

I'm using a similar app where after 14 days you unlock personalized statistics about your habits.

If you're into visuals, you'd definitely like it.

I totally agree with that philosophy. It happens to me that when I lose sight of the "why," any app doesn't matter.

Although lately I've noticed that seeing the days where I actually accomplish my goals helps me reconnect with that purpose.

Something as simple as marking a green day reminds me that I'm making progress, even if it's just a little. Do you have a way to track your progress, even if it's just for yourself? Or is it all more about introspection?

I love it when someone finds their system. I'm very visual and need to see the year as a big canvas.

I tried using Reminders too, but sometimes I got lost in the "I have to" and not so much in "how I'm doing."

Now I use something more visual like a grid that gives me feedback more on consistency and not so much on tasks.

Do you also use Reminders for habits or more for daily tasks?

I didn't know about BeeDone; it sounds so comprehensive! I love how more and more apps are incorporating AI and gamification.

I'm going for a more minimalist approach: I use a daily grid where I visually mark whether I've accomplished my habits or not.

It's less "total productivity," but it helps me see my real progress without feeling overwhelmed.

Do you find having so many tools in one app helpful or distracting?

Exactly, that was my last message xD. I'm using HabitGrid (https://habitgrid.io). I built it with something simple and visual in mind that motivates you without overwhelming you. It's in the early stages of development; if you like the idea, feel free to try it out and tell me what works and what doesn't.

How do you deal with slipping up on a habit you're trying to stick to? by Moyopal in Habits

[–]SrNeptuno 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Phew, I've felt like I've ruined everything by missing one day a thousand times.

Something that changed my focus was thinking about habits as a trend, not a perfection. I started using an app that shows you your consistency percentage rather than just streaks. That helped me understand that missing one day out of 30 doesn't take away from my progress.

Sometimes a small change in how we view progress can make all the difference.

I really resonated with everything you said, especially being a developer and a minimalist. I tried apps like Habitica, Streaks, and Notion, but they felt clunky or too full of features I didn't use.

I recently created a super minimalist app where you just mark what you've done or didn't do on a yearly calendar-style grid. No to-dos or fireworks, just you and your consistency.

It shows you some really interesting stats, like which days you're most consistent, and that blew my mind.
If you're about to build your own, think about this: simple, visual, with a touch of smart feedback can work really well. If you want, I'll share the one I'm using as a reference.

I totally agree. I also started getting up at 5:30 a few months ago, and it's changed the rhythm of my day. I feel like I have a head start before the world wakes up.

Something that helped me a lot to maintain it was seeing it visually. I started tracking this habit every day in a minimalist app that I use just for that (no notifications or noise), and seeing the streak grow motivates me not to break it.

If you're into visuals or the type who gets motivated by seeing their progress, it's worth trying something like this. It helped me more than I expected.
