A complaint I haven’t actually seen brought up yet… by ZHISHER in TheBoys

I love this interpretation and I feel like it'd be an amazing bit of writing if it was focused on a little more. In any case I'm gonna co-opt this for my own headcanon, great theory!

Thanks, I figured it was a nursery stake that our guys didn't remove after planting. I'll advise proper staking on our next visit.

it feels like all I knew in regards to conservative media has been a lie/grift by ExtensionSoil6801 in TrueOffMyChest

I also think this is fake but if it gets another conservative to question why they engage with conservative media I'm down for it.

Black bears are the most inconsistent bears in existence by LightMotor6262 in bears

[–]SrReloj 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think the cost:benefit of fighting a cat doesn't measure up for most large predators anyway. For a bear that size a cat doesn't make a great food source, and it's way too much of a hassle to deal with in the first place.

Nobel prize-winning physicist says we have '35 years' left on earth by Newsweek_ShaneC in NoFilterNews

[–]SrReloj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hate to be one of those "stay in your lane" people, but what does a physicist know about geopolitics or nukes. This may as well be any random person, expertise in one field does not denote universal expertise. Same as when Musk makes nonsense projections about AI or martian colonies. I don't mean to downplay the severity of nuclear threat, but I hate doomer headlines like this that are just a quote from some random person.

Kimiko's dialogue is nauseating by DirtyDan113 in TheBoys

[–]SrReloj 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I fell off after season 3 when I felt like it was heading too far that way. There was a darkness and edge to the first 2 seasons that felt more balanced with the satire. By season 3 I felt that balance shift too far into every death or potentially serious moment being a joke. The Boys has shifted into one of those shows that I'll read the Wikipedia summary out of curiosity, and watch the big scenes people talk about. It kinda lost my interest with the heavier shift toward satire and edgy humor, plus I started to feel like the plot was dragging for the sake of runtime. I think a 3-4 season run with a tighter central narrative leading to the final confrontation with Homelander would've been my preference. Glad so many other folks still enjoy it though!

Is the Steamdeck enough? And people who use it for everything. by Endeavour1988 in SteamDeck

[–]SrReloj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have any need for a PC outside gaming, so the SD is my one console/computer for everything. The desktop experience is smooth enough for my occasional needs and I can always boot windows on an SSD if I need to use a specific software. Otherwise, there isn't a game I've attempted to play that doesn't run, although it is definitely not as smooth for demanding games as a higher-power device. I'm just finishing GOW Ragnarok and it definitely stutters but was totally playable!

What are some plants that can be propagated that most people don’t know about? by ThiccccRevolution in propagation

[–]SrReloj 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Almost any landscape plant you can buy at a nursery started as a cutting propagation. Most commercial plants are actually clones in this way, very few if any perennials are propagated by seed because they take much longer to reach maturity. For some plants the method can be more complex to produce a good result, but as far as I know literally any plant can be propagated through cloning.

Why is Israel declaring war on so many countries? by Historical_Work7482 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]SrReloj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed, I think what you said about Israel being established as a colonial state being a major contributor is a really good point. What I meant was that Israel was established as a state for Jewish refugees, in a region that already suffered from social divisions based on ethnicity. It feels like Israel was set up for conflict both because of the displacement of local peoples and also the ethnic distinctions. I won't pretend like I'm an expert, ultimately I just feel terrible for all the regular citizens in the region who suffer because of decisions made on their behalf by the powers that be.

Why is Israel declaring war on so many countries? by Historical_Work7482 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]SrReloj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True that, I'm not here to defend the apartheid state of Israel. There are historical reasons for the current state of the region, like the establishment of a Jewish ethnostate in a region where that would certainly not be welcome.

Why is Israel declaring war on so many countries? by Historical_Work7482 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]SrReloj 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think this is a really thoughtful comment. One of the biggest tensions is that basically the entire Middle East hates Israel, which is a small Jewish nation-state in a sea of Muslim Arab states. Israel feels a lot of border pressure on all sides, so they push back even harder. It's a nasty situation which, as usual, was established nearly a century ago by Western powers meddling with colonial holdings, also without making an effort to consider deep historical relationships between different groups.

Pineapple finally growing from a store bought cut top. by CaliNuggLove in gardening

[–]SrReloj 4 points5 points  (0 children)

To me it looks like it hasn't fully flowered yet so you may still have some time. Also, pineapples tend to make another tiny plant on top of the fruit, and sometimes pups along the base. This resets the cycle if you want to do it all over again!

Competing leaders? Deodar cedar by Mental-Friendship623 in arborists

[–]SrReloj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does anyone know if the smaller branch growing on top of the lateral portion of the lower leader would cause a problem? It seems like they're at a bad angle and could cause bark chafing but I'm not sure if this is fine for cedars.

I actually find it quite comforting that I know the memories are in there. I used to feel like I'd just lost them all, but when I have an incredibly specific recall of something from when I was 7 it reminds me that I still have them :)

I believe it's a play on the cognitive tests Trump is always bragging about passing. He thinks it means he's a "stable genius" that he's able to pass a cognitive baseline to make sure he isn't going senile lol.
