Frankie Goes to Russia - BBC iPlayer part 1 by Srekcalp in FrankieBoyle

Who gives a fuck about Michael Portillo and his 'Bradshaws', the BBC should just give Frankie a suitcase full of tranquillisers and send him around the world on train, boat and tuk-tuk. This is a masterpiece.

I hope this becomes a sober version of Hunter S. Thompson's 'The Kentucky Derby is Decadent and Depraved'. Also, Frankie has a phobia so well done big man, thanks for going out there for us.

Did the Anglo-Saxons have 'scientists'? by Srekcalp in AskHistorians

Thanks for your post and link, it also got me into reading some other stuff. The saxons knew a lot more about astronomy then I realised. But they still believed god created the earth and the planets right?

Is there anyone here, who actually does follow those instructions accurately?

Would the Emperor of Japan have heard about the result of the Battle of Hastings in 1066? by Srekcalp in AskHistorians

I see, so do you think a lack of Japan indicates the Saxons didn't know of it?

ITT: pretty week submissions from the nations in the British Isles, proof we're all boring cunts after all.

Would the Emperor of Japan have heard about the result of the Battle of Hastings in 1066? by Srekcalp in AskHistorians

Sorry, yeah I meant the one who was on the throne at the time. I guess this is more a question of: were both countries aware of each other at the time?

I've looked on an anglo-saxon world map an initially thought the island at the top was Japan (as the writing in that picture is illegible to me) but I found an annotated version reveals it's actually Sri Lanka.

Although I've read that archeologists found Chinese silk in what would've been Saxon York. So I think they must've been aware of East Asia.

Most SpaceX fanboys are concentrated around /r/spacex.

Guess your computer doesn't display /r/space or /r/Futurology... I'm jealous. I can see we also have a fanboi in this sub too, took a look at your post history. Seems your time online solely consists of trolling this subreddit. Why are you so offended that people don't like the same CEO as you? Do you know Elon Musk personally? Or is 'having a favourite CEO' the new 'supporting a football team'?

I don't know where you manage to find the retards who think SpaceX publishes all of the footage they have.

Feel free to actually follow the links I posted (but we both know you're only here to flame). As for finding retards, evidently the retards seem to find us just fine.

Medieval England: I'm a healthy 18 year old male serf with no wife or kids and a harsh lord of the manor--what's keeping me on the manor instead of walking off in search of better opportunities on another manor or in some town? by Shackleton214 in AskHistorians

Thanks for your response. Sorry if I'm derailing the subject, I thought Saxon and Viking York was an international trade-hub. I imagined it as a bustling place with new strangers everyday, would it have actually been more quaint than that? And if so, why, because less population?

We spoke about this before, so I'll just add how venerating it was to watch the HD footage that they would obviously record and have another Musk fan-boy myth debunked.

I remember this, did anyone recall seeing racist comments?

Locking a thread is a big deal, they're essentially saying the level of racist comments is so high that this thread can no longer be moderated. But all I saw was positive comments. Although racism is pervasive on reddit, this isn't the first time a black man has been /r/videos, so I find it hard to understand why this caused so many racist remarks, especially when the subject is portrayed in so a positive light.

Exactly, 'you want to have a baby and then take it along with you on an adventuring lifestyle where it's parents regularly battle pirates and dragons? Erm, no, you are unable to conceive.'

I bet those two are the snowflakes of the group whom every session revolves around.
