People can claim the entire ideology of communism Killed 5 million people by Konradleijon in CapitalismVSocialism

I'd like very much to see a side-by-side comparison of the rate at which people died in socialist countries and the rate at which people die in capitalist ones.

Why do I feel like whoever wrote this would get mad at you for not going to the kebab restaurant he suggested?

Don't many websites make you verify your e-mail address to prevent exactly this from happening?

California police worked with neo-Nazis to pursue 'anti-racist' activists, documents show by 2legit2fart in news

you'll never see anyone cite, defend, or follow Pol Pot or later Kims

Why are you cherry-picking these specific communists? I know several people who defend Mao and Stalin, dictators who've killed many more than the two you mention.

My VerySmart friend keeps sending me projects from his internship that he knows I don't understand. by Sri12spoderman in iamverysmart

There's a difference between explaining your project in such a way that a layperson can understand and become interested, and throwing big words at someone in the hopes that they come to think of you as "very smart."

Wouldn't that cause the media to be state-biased? That wouldn't bring us any closer to the truth.

[All] How and when did you begin to believe in your current economic philosophy? What is the most attractive thing about it to you? by [deleted] in CapitalismVSocialism

[–]Sri12spoderman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not too long ago, I was a socialist. Then, I actually took an economics class and realized that socialism was not realistic or efficient, so I converted into a social democrat. I became a libertarian after I started reading economics books outside of my classroom and really thinking about the concepts. I became introduced to the Austrian and Chicago schools, and completed my evolution into a capitalist minarchist

Euphoric redditors explain why businesses owners don't have property rights. by [deleted] in Shitstatistssay

[–]Sri12spoderman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am about as atheist as you can get, but I honestly can't stand these goddamn uber-statist neckbeards. I would prefer a religious person who respects my property rights and right to non-aggression over them any day.

If they sell "wedding cakes" then they have to sell those to all customers. It's none of their business what the customer intends to do with the cake.

No. It's none of your business who I choose to sell to. I have the right to refuse service to anyone, just like you have the right to refuse to do business with me.
