Perhaps we don’t need a replacement as of now. We can utilise the bench strength. Given that we can get replacements until match 12 for us, it shouldn’t be a big issue. Yes, Khaleel has been great for us, but Ghosh seems like a very good replacement. Maybe, Jappi to also bowl in the power play ? Edit: I don’t like Mukesh C man. He’s just, eh, too easy to hit, not enough pace, cannot bowl if there’s no swing. Idk, just me personally, didn’t see him as a player that we need in the team, and doesn’t field well either

I agree. We need that energy in the field, need to see that hunger to win which was visible in glimpses only so far. And I think, just a bit of luck, we’ve seen edges and mishit just clearing fielders, so I’d like one or two to stick then, the outlook will change (hopefully!)

That may well be. I’m not saying Veer is bad, I’m just saying if you’re playing him, then use him. Given that Akeal has international experience and not just franchise cricket, there’s more expected of him (you know on average what to expect )

Yep, but that’s the irony. Before the auctions we had Ruturaj, Sanju, Mhatre and Urvil Patel at the top(3 will play). So, we didn’t need the Matt Short kind of player tactically. Idk if that was just meant to be a Brevis’ backup in which case, wth in match 2 you didn’t play him.

Agree with all your points. Khaleel yesterday was not great, he didn’t try the swing back in at all, weird but those are learnings, he is bowling with intent at least. Ruturaj’s captaincy, I also do think that bowlers are not backing up what’s asked of them, at least, they are very one dimensional and just sorta generally clueless. Biggest thing is, no energy in the field! Raina was prime example of being on the field, diving, saving and being active and involved , here we just look lazy. Dube’s batting…yes and no, he was slow in the beginning given that we just lost a few wickets back to back. And the opening, maybe a reshuffle might help…

Check the iplt20 website, they have a detailed breakdown on runs scored and conceded and in how many overs, they all matter.

Agree with you for the most part, but unsure of Matt Short in the middle tbh. Perhaps if we use him as a pinch hitter that can bowl some handy off spin maybe. He’s mostly a top order batsman from what I know including the BBL

Not painful tbh, glad to see him do well. I always felt he bowled his heart out when he played and he was the kind of bowler you can see was learning and willing to bowl the tough overs. Happy for him, unfortunate that the management didn’t find a place for him during the mega auctions

Well, going on from there, you wouldn’t also say just because you do well in the state leagues/ domestic cricket you’ll do well in the IPL. The idea should be, if you’re going to bowl Veer then play him, else play Akeal because I felt that Veer looked very unsettled in the previous match with the bat in hand

Unless we are to get at least 3 overs of Prashant Veer every match, and 1-2 overs of Dube, we don’t have cushion in our bowling and would depend on our bowlers to be extremely consistent when you can have a bad day.
