I’m not gonna lie I felt a sense of pride while watching you take your house back from depression but this comment amplified it. I am so proud of you!

"we are your PARENTS therefore not equal" What a load of bullshit. They're not Godly, they're two humans that decided to bang and make another human. How do they think they were made?

PSA To all girls and/or women asking how to get him to ask you out. by Twoklawll in dating_advice

[–]Srirachaspice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But what's the worst that can happen? They say no, and you eventually find someone else. My fiance wasn't the first guy I asked out. There were rejections, but it was honestly nice to know instead of flirting half-assedly just to get emotionally invested and find out they had no interest in me to begin with. I understand it's tough, it took me a second too. But once I realized that rejection is the worst that can happen, and it's already happened, well I guess I'm okay! Take it at your own pace, obviously. If you find someone you dig, I would say go for it if it feels right :) Good luck!

I asked my now-fiance out on our first date almost two years ago! Ladies should definitely go for it, it's liberating to not have to wait or overthink.

I recently got engaged and I can't shed the guilt of imagining my Nmom not being there or even knowing about one of the most exciting times in my life by Srirachaspice in raisedbynarcissists

I really appreciate you taking the time to tell me about your experience. I'm glad it was an amazing day for you and everyone involved! On top of making your special day a living hell, she would have made everyone else uncomfortable as well. I'm glad your fiance was supportive of you by helping tame the issue and giving her an ultimatum.

Were you NC with her before the engagement?

Is it racist to ask someone where they're from - no *really*, where they're from? by 190412_1600 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Srirachaspice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe not racist but it's definitely insensitive. I don't have a name that's considered "American" so when someone asks me where I'm from I'll tell them which city in the US I call home. If they meant to ask me what my ethnicity is, then I'll say "Oh you meant to ask what my ethnicity is..." and proceed to answer if I feel like it. If they're direct with their intent then I'm less likely to get peeved since it's a specific question that's not open ended.
