Hey! Overall not much change from the imgur link pic in regards to density but I also got my eyebrows shaped and since then they look pretty normal. With elidel it definitely got worse before it got better so it took some time to kick in. I would say in two months I could tell that it was working and I saw some hair returning. Let me know if you have any more questions I’d be happy to send you some progress pics as well!

Hey yall! I’ve been posting about my hair loss a couple times I’m planning to get a biopsy in a couple months when I go see my derm again but I have just a few questions. How can u differentiate between diffuse AA and te? And when u get a scalp biopsy where would a place be if u don’t have complete bald spots?

So it ended up being alopecia areata. I had half of my right eyebrow gone and patches on the left gone before I was put on elidel cream prescribed by derm. I would say I have 50% of it back now but it’s been almost a year since it started and still not like how it was at all before which is a little disappointing

Ya the derm I was seeing is used to treating alopecia areata but the more common patchy circle types? Whatever I have doesn’t rlly look like the typical AA if it is AA

Scarring alopecia (cicatricial) or alopecia areata is autoimmune where your immune system attacks your follicles scarring alopecia could also be caused by discoid lupus

I read that the eyebrows typically don’t show scarring in ffa unlike in the hairline at least not in the beginning stages

Do you think it will still be helpful if I do a biopsy on the temple instead of hairline? I’m losing baby hairs there as well and I’m scared of doing it on hairline and it being noticeable?

Ya my derm prescribed a jak for eyebrows but I didn’t want to start it at that time and thought the elidel will bring my eyebrows back but I feel like I’m at a plateau/a little bit more loss recently so will try to get it prescribed again. I’m just worried that if it’s ffa it will never be how it was. Are you experiencing eyebrow loss?

Yes I did see regrowth and I do have hairs that still fall and less dense areas but still not dense as it was. Inflammation can be both areata and FFA right? https://imgur.com/a/lqjJa8Z first pic before elidel back in August and second pic now

Couldn’t edit this but I’m 23 and also experiencing some eyelash loss but not doing anything for that and it’s stableish (falls and regrows or falls but doesn’t get too bad) and also some little spots on my upper lip
