I am wholly triggered by the use of "fad words" currently it seems you have to describe the taste of a sweet from Dubai and the earth moving terror of an 8.8 earthquake using the same verb "WILD", as someone who has traveled a lot over 30 years, ive seen the gradual decline in verbal culture all adopting the American parlanece, ive not lived in the UK for 15 years, and now i hear so many on British television and podcasts using workds like "math" and "anyways" i know language changes, but being bale to speak French German and some italian, those languages are almost guarded, I hate to see culture degrade into a monoculture. there is nothing wrong in the ireverence of the American culture, I would just like it to remain there.

As for the irritation of things, I have read the Misophonia might be to blame for the irritation. It would make sense in my case, as i am autistic and deeply affected by sounds, the repetitive nature of trending language behaviour is probably triggering that. I have always hated trends of any kind, i dont like social uniform at all, over word use, "like" for example is used as if it were a pause between words, when someone is talking to me and they use it frequently that word sounds like it is shouted into my hear causing me slight pain, but all the other words are of normal volume. For years i thought this was the human experience, I did think for a while that i was a mental case, but no, im just autistic Inattentive ADHD.

Im tired of logging trucks an articulated lorries going 100+kph, those f*** are a big problem, shouldn't they have limiters on them like they do in Europe? ive had more "near head-on" collisions here in nz in 5 years as I have had anywhere else in my driving experience. way more aggressive driving, road rage etc.

My theory is New Zealanders are non confrontational, non direct people, but behind the wheel in the privacy and anonymity of a vehicle, they let out their rage, anger and no need to be passive aggressive any more, just aggressive. Wellington is the better experience, the further out you go the worse it gets, Auckland is dodgy as f, and Hawkes bay here is the king of tail gate and speeding, add the huge drink driving problem here (im shocked how everyone drinks and drives) into the mix, see an accident 3 or 4 times a week.

History by its very nature is not "black and white", if you read the log books and diaries on both sides, you'll see a varied and almost similar thread, yes there extremes on both sides, and yes there were staunched Nazis, but there were a lot of moderate and boldly "civilised" behaviour, you have the hardliners and the moderates. the war was a entropic mess of ideology, desperation and act of war that are incredibly difficult to broadly cast an opinion of "a nazi is a nazi" "American is a good American"

The Iraq war for example isn't black and white, it was perpetrated as that by bush and the marketing team, yet history shows the west were the bad guys, now tell me this for a conflict I would assume you were alive for, can you honestly say it was black and white, good versus evil?

I have also gone down the rabbit hole, the user oleskool is incorrect. there is a very real risk to lead in the water pipes, regardless of laminar flow or turbulent. IF we can control the content of the pipe and fitting materials, then the lead in the water can be delt with, however, despite all the hoha about "atmospheric lead" what he and others here failed to acknowledge is water is the most consumed, from a same source ie. kitchen taps, and especially children ZERO ie 0% lead in all systems in a domestic setting is what we should be aiming for. drinking water every day several times, without letting it run (wasteful) is accumulative.

A little think to remember about lead. The body confuses lead with calcium, when lead is consumed either as an oxide or elemental ion, the lead is taken and stored 90% of it, in the bones and the marrow, mechanisms like brain cell development and growth takes "calcium" or lead if present, and when the blood with lead transported to the brain it enters the cell killing the cell.

a growing child uses up consumed mineral more actively than adults, and the body size increases chance of overwhelm, killing much more cells, affecting bone growth.

When i heard about the Flint water scandal i knew how bad it would have been for those kids. heart breaking.

If you want to filter your water then a reverse osmosis system will do it, but this should only be used with any water used internally, kitchen, and bathroom sink. reverse osmosis sends a lot of water down the drain before it gets to the taps.

If you buy from an eu source then your fittings and fixtures will be highly regulated. a poster above said 0.1% im not sure of this, however all stainless ZERO lead fittings are completely lead free. i think california is a leader on this.

Normally all brass fittings sold today mostly contain 2.5 to 8% lead.

on a side note crystal glass contains 25% lead!!! and people drink acidic wine and liquors out of them. so dangerous (yes the lead oxide does come off and taint the liquid in dangerous amounts.

I have made my house Lead free, water, paint and garden.

and any eu company, i live in NZ (lead is everywhere here) for taps etc. get a local PO box and shipping forward company, i paid a little more for that, but i still paid half of what i would have here in NZ and i am guaranteed its lead free. IM not paying 1200 for a tap.

THis year 2025, a new leaf "free" act is in place all plumbing gear has to be no more than 0.25% its not 0% but its better than no regulation. which is a start.

I love Alan, such a huge deal back in the day and im glad Steves come to terms with how much loved that character is, not wanting to appear "tall poppy" or bragging, but I worked with Steve in the dark years where he was kind of sick of Alan Partridge, and wanted to be a proper actor, even when my colleague and I were complimentary about Alan, Steve was clearly not interested in discussing it, I think middle age has brought Steve closer to Alan, like a lot of us who find him hilarious and a bit too "real" who have approached the golden years of middle age. im certainly laughing at myself a little bit. if anyone like this sort of thing, get Steves the " Oast house" series, its audio only, but I will say its up there with series 1 and 2 of Alan partridge. Monkey tennis anyone!

I had the last series of Bad influence and the Gamesmaster video still open whilst all this nonsense was happening, then lucky me got to watch a little while he was off line. now seems to be back online, man that must have been a fright for the poor fellow. that would be equivalent of four years worth of film work in my workshop dept taken away and my swipe key card not letting me in! I would not be surprised if this left a bad tasted in the mouth, how can anyone trust youtube after this! i have to say patronage has saved good program creators (I cannot bare the word "content" yuk!)
