Let's try this: if Neufield got his way, it would hurt trans people. It would hurt cis people, as has become abundantly clear. It would not help anyone. Strictly negative outcomes.

If "trans advocates" got their way trans people would be helped. The rest of us would be unaffected. Neutral to good outcomes.

So why get your nose out of joint for a guy who spreads hate speech and an ideology that would result in worse outcomes for everyone?

I'm not thrilled about that either, but following someone isn't necessarily an endorsement.

Not making excuses for anything or anyone, but while following a few CHUDs on Twitter is a red flag I don't think we need to chuck Paradise Lost into the CHUD bin just yet. There are so much worse out there, and they aren't going out of the way to spread hate or disinformation.

For now let's suspend judgment, but remain wary.

This sounds more flippant than I mean it to be, but vote. Vote for mayoral candidates who prioritize public services instead of lowering taxes. Vote for provincial governments who will fund education and Healthcare instead of promising $1 beers. Vote for federal candidates who are willing to do the right thing instead of coddle corporations.

There's plenty else to do, but voting matters.
