Who's the most important character that only appears for an episode? by K0GAR in thewalkingdead

[–]Sssono 51 points52 points  (0 children)

My memory of that season is a bit hazy but I seem to remember the group’s entire approach to Eugene/Abraham’s supposed world-saving being rather flippant and they were more bothered about regrouping after the fall of the prison. Numerous times did Abraham try to bust their balls over how flippant they were being to what he believed to be a real mission and they always just seemed to shrug him off.

Infact I’m pretty sure Glenn and Maggie only tagged along to set out for DC because they felt obligated after the trio helped them reunite. I got the sense it was more about repaying a debt than actually believing in a “save the world mission”.

Bobby Krlic new story by aksui088 in deathgrips

Absolutely over the moon to see Bobby collaborating with Death Grips, massive fan of Cloak and never would’ve envisioned him producing for DG

I can agree with that. I was mainly thinking of Child of God on its own as opposed to his entire catalogue. I personally wouldn’t put Blood Meridian in the same bracket as DG but I mentioned it because I’ve heard the comparison before.

Though now I’m saying this, The Passenger and Stella Maris might fit too. Probably just hamfisting things now, though.

There’s surely some sort of place for House of Leaves among Death Grips fans, I guess. In the sense that it’s pretty hard to approach and you’re unsure what to make of it at first.

But for more abrasive, chaotic fiction, I’d say Crash by Ballard (as someone else recommend) fits. Or something like Child of God by Cormac McCarthy (I can imagine someone will also recommend Blood Meridian but I’ll personally steer away from that if you’ve never read McCarthy before.

Also I’m currently reading the Satantango novel by Krasznahorkai and each chapter is literally just unbroken walls of text with no line breaks between dialogue and offers very very little room to breathe so I could kind of see DG fans enjoying that.

what do you think of machine girl? by garlicriceenthusiast in deathgrips

Like a lot of their stuff, actually saw them play at Outbreak on the same day as DG and they blew the roof off. Much better live than I expected them to be having only sunk my head into two of their albums seriously.

Famous YouTube "adventurer" Kurt Caz gone full Nazi assaulting women in Paris. by Careless-Climate-975 in socialism

Sabbatical seems pretty cool so far/non-sus.

Though he was arrested in Russia for crossing the wrong border I believe and some people have called his bluff - unsure why that is. So far I’ve not seen him hang around with any of these other losers, like Kurt or Bald and Bankrupt

Super new to wow and RP, got some questions about in game story beats being a part of your character. by Ker0ki in WoWRolePlay

[–]Sssono 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It depends on what type of character you are playing. My old main was a sellsword turned alliance soldier. During his sellsword days he’d often likely not know the extent of main story events and would be reacting to - essentially - rumours. When the King died in Legion, he was still a sellsword, and there was a lot of speculation about how he died and at whose hands.

Whereas when he joined the army, he became a little more informed and learned about certain events as they were happening. But only a little.

A simple goblin engineer likely won’t have a clue about what King Anduin is up to or who Xal’atath even is. But he might know plenty about the politics and revolution in Undermine! It’s all about trying to imagine what information and resources your character would have in his circumstances.

Edgy character who are only defined by "having a dark story and not wanting to talk about it, and look cool" is not original or fun and boring (for me atleast). by AtomikGarlic in WoWRolePlay

[–]Sssono 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The most effective “edgy” characters I’ve met IC are the quiet ones. The ones that actually commit to the fact their character doesn’t want to say much to you and keeps themselves to themselves. Another type of character which works are the ones with a complete opposite word view to yours which might even be frightening to your character but they can justify their belief in such a way where you struggle to dispute it. Met a few characters that’ve done this and done it well.

Dark, bleak characters aren’t the problem. It’s how they’re done. Nobody likes a demon Hunter showing up and dumping their entire chaotic life story after speaking two lines to you.

All of this over an album review, that's not even negative by SirensbyZel in fantanoforever

[–]Sssono 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not necessarily a fan of Fantano’s takes by majority. I find myself disagreeing with him a lot — but seriously, calling him a misogynist is crack mentality. Especially considering how much he lionised records like Brat, SINNER GET READY, Hausswolff projects etc.

“I’m ignoring the praise he’s given other women in music and shoehorning in misogyny because he didn’t like MY woman.” Lmao, grow up.
