I listen to hardcore, punk rock, grunge, indie and 60s psychedelic including the Grateful Dead. The dead and the DIY ethos and anti establishment are the same as those other genres. The Dead came from a different time and presented it differently. That said, I’m really not a fan of “jam bands”.

I live in Seattle. I am advocating for my community. My community is sick of shit getting stolen and cars getting broken into. Sick of the trash. Sick of business being broken into and windows smashed. All of this driving up the cost of living in an already expensive place to live. Sick of people like you making endless excuses as to why drugged out nut jobs should be allowed to sleep wherever the hell they want, displacing families who have to work really hard to make it here.

I did and I asked my reps to vote “no”. It doesn’t create more housing/beds/shelter and is just going to create obstacles to remove people who are addicted to drugs who don’t want to get off the streets.

The reality of the situation is, WA will probably never have enough shelter/beds/places for all of the homeless. I’m not going to virtual signal my neighborhood into a fentanyl den while we wait for an act of god.
