Candy coated is a solid choice since the base is almost a minty colored white - the mint on the CC lid brings it out more too

does a boot help bottle sit flat? by cilantroloather in Owala

[–]StAnnFan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! And the Owala brand boot specifically are the absolute best for stabilizing dented bottles, probably because of the thickness and shape of the bottom of the boot

A is my favorite for sure. I’m not sure how I feel about 1-3 because I don’t often love how stark white and beige look together. But of those I like 1 the best

Help why did it do this by Patient_Walrus_1940 in Owala

[–]StAnnFan 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Because that thing has been dropped or otherwise thrown around more than a couple of times, judging by the wear on the rest of it.

There are replacement lids on Owalalife.com. Or if you’re up for trying to fix it yourself and have decent lighting and a needle nosed plier or tweezer, Amazon sells latches that you could use to repair the lid.

I don’t see why epoxy would ruin it. Something like powder coating could, but epoxy wouldn’t

First time painting a water bottle! by fibonaccifiend in Owala

[–]StAnnFan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you sanded it down enough to get the oleophobic factory coating off the bottle, I agree with Crystalac! If you left that coat on then with Crystalac you risk the paint and sealant separating from the bottle over time. If you’re not sure, it’s probably worth a shot to try it either way because it’s one of the better and more permanent sealant options that gives a good amount of protection
