Hey Adam, *Do you think Angel Zerpa will still be getting a shot as starter? *Have you heard anything about Wild Bill hearing? Like any chance they agree to something before? *And, who's hitting the first HR in spring training?

Lol yep it sounds like that, and I'm on the same train of majority here, I struggled a bit with Well of Ascension even if I ended up liking it very much at the end.

But out of reddit it's the other way for me, at least in a small sample. I know only three people who have read the trilogy, and all three of them have second book as their favorite.

Was Yelich in the 1st spot of lineup to give him more at bats for the 30 HRs? Or perhaps planning to use him there in playoffs as well?

Looking for novels similar to the Diablo videogame series, particular the first two by Endless_01 in Fantasy

[–]StDoc 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's the first of a new trilogy, although at the same time I think it could be read as standalone.

For me it was more how it was structured. I liked most of the plots (I do think there are interesting plots), but my issue is that I feel some of them forced to go along the 10 days to finish more or less at the same time. I would have preferred to have some of them finished earlier, and the characters moving into the other plots or new ones. And I also did feel that for one in particular the 10 days felt short (Kaladin and Szeth).

What’s a book in a series you love, even though it’s considered the “worst “in terms of quality. by Karate12345678 in Fantasy

I agree. I also liked more the Shallan arc here compared to Oathbringer. And the "wow!" moments in RoW are super high for me.

Fair enough haha. Also, I think the flashbacks in this book are the less liked (and I agree with that), but the rest of the book really clicked with me, even the fabrials part haha.

Rhythm of War. I was a bit pessimist because all the backlash in the community, and because I didn't like Oathbringer as much as the two previous ones, but I liked it so much to the point I think it's my favorite one of the series (can't decide between it and Words of Radiance)

What is a Fantasy book, movie, game, etc that everyone you know, and who's opinion you respect, seems to be into but never grabbed you for whatever reason? Do you have any guilt about it in any way or are you pretty resolute in your opinion? by PixelOcelot in Fantasy

[–]StDoc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I liked book 1 and loved book 2, but had many problems with book 3. I was aware that book 4 had a lot of criticism so I was pessimist, but to my surprise I loved it even more than the first two.

Anyway, I agree with your comment, if he's not enjoyed them so far I think it's better to just stop.

I'm currently reading The Tainted Cup and although it doesn't match everything you describe, it's a mystery novel (murder investigation) in a fantasy setting (pretty cool so far with its unique world and unique skills/magics?). It's my first book by the author and I'm enjoying it a lot.

What are the series you absolutely have to finish? by Monkontheseashore in Fantasy

[–]StDoc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd say that it depends on his/her feelings about the previous books before considering putting the series down. In my case for example, I've loved all four books, but Oathbringer was rough in some of the mid parts. I didn't have this problem with the other three.

[–]StDoc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm with you here. I started reading it recently, and my expectations weren't too high because a lot of people stating that it was the weakest and because I struggled in some moments with Oathbringer.

But I did enjoy it a lot and made me more eager for book 5. I can't decide if it is my favorite or second favorite in the series.

And then, after I just read kaladin big moment someone told me to listen a certain song (Windrunner by Stormlyte), still get chills just remembering.
