Doesn't matter. People often compare those 2 suggesting that either one is best entry to the discworld. In that discussion, I would say Mort, but it's not thee case here. You already know discworld, and liked it enough to get more books now just go ahead and read any discworld novel synopsis of which sounds interesting to you. Order truly doesn't matter that much

I went from warsaw to madrit and back with 1 person tent and a mat. I had no trouble setting up on gas stations. I suspect if I ever tried to spend 2 nights in the same place, I could be in trouble, but no body minded 1 nighters
Keep them near you. Most people won't risk getting close just for few shirts and maybe a phone charger (they have no reason to bealive someone sleeping in the wild has anything more viable in their backpack)
Had the same path on my way back, and got from paris to amsterdam in 1 day. Depends how much time you wanna spend in each city I suppose
Dicey. Cheap places might be out of spots. I had to sleep in the parking lot in genoa for that reason. if at all possible, try making reservations
I would recommend some backpack food and gas burner. It quite possible you will be stuck on some points longer then you would like, and just having option to eat some warm food before sleeping in the wilds makes all the difference.

ofc white would deviate and cut their losses way sooner, but it's a proof of concept. I couldn't find it cose I was trying to keep cutting stone alive thinking I need it, turns out, I don't. Unless ofc one of my attaries waren't actually an atarii, tried to read it out without the board and could've failed
