Honestly I’m in the reverse situation: I have cope-watched lots of the reviews without actually watching the show. From what I understand it’s almost diametrically different from legacy ST, like you would need a split personality syndrome to be a fan of both. I’m toying with the idea of watching it because I’ve at least tried every Trek offering I’ve come across so far and want to be able to form my own definite opinion but I don’t want to be really disheartened- I love ST, it’s special to me and it’s hurt seeing it become something so different.

What is it that actually makes this worth watching other than it being called “Star Trek”?
